Are Champions League bets only over 90 mins for all bookies?

  • Hi, shitting myself a bit.. matched around £4-5k worth on the Madrid City game tonight, and then it occurred to me about extra time.. Do all bookies’ standard match bets only cover 90 mins? Smarkets is only the 90, but just thinking that I could get royally fucked if some are and some aren’t.. Anyone know?

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

If it’s the match winner market, then yes… It’s 90 minutes only. The “To Qualify” market includes ET and Penalties.

    You are probably okay Conor.

    What have you bet on?

    What bookie?

They usually state 90 minutes only etc.

Were the bookie odds close to the exchange odds?

Okay, feeling a little more positive. Didn’t bet on to qualify, just the standard match market that came up on the home screen, it included ‘draw’ in it so couldn’t have been to qualify.. Yeah they were all close. I got on a 5.1/5.1 for Liv-Vil tomorrow, but that’s the best in terms of odds I got so there wasn’t any glaring arbs.. The bookies were:

    Smarkets for laying
    bet365 bet on the draw
    Coral bet on Madrid
    Marathon bet on City

    Tony bet bet on Villareal

    Thanks everyone for your replies

Next question….why are you putting on all these thousands on pounds of bets and matching them? Without any offers

Either me or smarkets got the odds wrong on one of my lays last week by 1.. I’m adamant I put 3.9 in for the draw, they say I put 4.9 and refused to cancel it, either way I was stuck with a £500 lay of 4.9 with a liability of around £2k. Have been putting in bets and lays since every time I could reduce my exposure without losing too much, and also reducing potential commission from smarkets.. managed to get my guaranteed loss down to £12, which isn’t too bad.

I don’t really want to argue with you mate, but you seem like you’re up for an argument with your previous replies. So let me save you the ‘oh……..my……..god’ on the smarkets fuck up, if indeed it was my fault. That’s why I have that much money on the game.

Hold up, so you *could* lose £500 if the result goes against you due to the additional 1.0 on the lay.

You have now stuck thousands on the same game, losing more money in the process through commission (£100 if 5k)

By betting more, you are assuming it evens out the potential loss. Could somebody confirm that unless they are large arbs this has no effect on the initial £500 potential loss? All you are doing is backing and covering that back, nothing to do with previous bets.

The only way I can see that you are lowering the potential loss is by equalising it across the home/draw/away and guarentee a smaller loss.

the_don, the spread was too much at the time, highest I could back at was 4.1. opted to back on bet365 at 4.33, then this morning saw the opportunity to cash out and lose a small percentage of it, then back on smarkets closer to the 4.9, gave the same winnings but obviously reduced potential commission. I could have made it easier by waiting it out but if the odds shortened I’d have lost even more and thought it would be best to be safe and take a small loss in that situation than try and make it back to even.

kjillman I figured haha, thanks mate. It’s a weird place to come to try and wind people up though, but if thats what he’s in to then fair enough!

feltt1p I backed it on b365 to guarantee a loss. I then tried to reduce that loss further by eliminating commission, through matching bets on madrid win and city win on other sites, all while completing qualifying bets on various offers.
