Bet Safe closed my account and stole my money

  • Me and my wife had bet safe accounts, Different bank accounts, phone numbers but same address and ip, must of had £200 between the two, no warning couldn’t log in to my account, live chat said I’d broken T&C’s and that’s that I’m £200 down, any ideas to what I do next ? Any help much appreciated

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

    Just seen this.
They did exactly the same to me about 10 days ago.
My wife and I both had accounts with them as we are Man City fans and used to do the free bet on the Man City games. We tended to bet against Man City winning with the free bet so that it softened the blow if they didnt win.
Our accounts were blocked with about £120 in each account. Live chat said it was against the rules to have 2 accounts in the same household and under their terms and conditions they were confiscating the balance.
Over the life of our accounts both were in a net losing situation.
Hope we get some advise about what we can do.
Prehaps we might get more answers if this was in the matched betting area rather than on here

Have you tried reading the T&Cs?

Cheers, I’ll take that as a no then. Would a more accurate thread title be “I neglected to read the T&Cs which betsafe then enforced”?

There is a chance that you were multi accounting and simply were caught. In which case its the risk you take – and the advise is always to keep minimum funds in your accounts for those reasons (bit late now!).

Otherwise if you’re genuinely both genuine punters then its pretty bad luck. I don’t know if you can get them to review the accounts to satisfy that you were not colluding in any way. But it will be hard for them to differentiate between your situation and the fraudster type of activity above.

I don’t think many ppl would be so naive as to think that there isn’t something dodgy about receiving the offers by the double. You never suspected this was a risk?

In the context of posting on a forum dedicated to matched betting it would be insincere for him to suggest they weren’t multi accounting. Bookies have some terrible practises but sometimes people only have themselves to blame.

Oh dear. If you both broke the rules ie both taking their offers then you were effectively cheating and you got caught. Calling someone a bell end for stating that isnt gonna change anything. Some people get away with it and fair play to them for taking the risk but you cant really fault the bookie if you get caught. I apologise if you didnt do that but if you did then they didnt steal your money.

As the others have already stated you can’t really complain….I had a duplicate account in my girlfriends name different ip address all that so thought I would take the risk, I didn’t get caught.

However, if I had been caught and they took my money then I would have just accepted it as that was the risk I knew I was taking. So no offence you can’t really complain after you’ve clearly broken their terms..

You say had Ryan, have you now lost the other account.
Yes I knew the risks but it stills irks.

I say had due to personal circumstances with my girlfriend, not because I got caught by the bookie.

Its alright though just means my first question when I meet someone will be have you ever had an account with an online bookmaker:

    If yes – walk away
    If no – proceed.

    ?
