Betbright welcome offer

  • Hey gang,

Think I have made an error and wasn’t sure if there was an easy fix.

So I deposited £60 into betbright for their 50% first deposit if you lose welcome offer. Because I’m an idiot I didn’t use the guaranteed profit calculator and instead backed and laid like a normal qualifying bet.

I did get lucky with in play odds though so my qualifying bet I need to lose was £60 backed at 2.5 and I laid at 2.42. Typically as it stands my guy I need to lose (Lorenzi, tennis) is winning and the match continues tomorrow.

I know I did ok with the Inplay odds making sure I don’t lose but is there anyway to maximise profit. I thought about backing Lorenzi instead but anything could still happen and that would just be gambling right?

Apologies for poor explanation, pretty new!

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

By using the qualifying bet calculator you have overlayed.
I take it you layed £62.50.
If you had used the risk free bet calculator and set the cash back at £26 (an estimate of what you would make from the £30 free bet) you should have layed £51.67 for a guaranteed profit of £16.63.
    You have therefore overlayed £10.83.
This means if the back bet wins you will only make £1.25 but £27.25 if you win at the exchange.

If you placed a back bet for £20 at 1.44 ( price currently showing on Smarkets) I work out that you would make £10.05 if he wins or £7.25 if he loses.
    £20 at1.44=profit of £8.80 +£1.25 = £10.05
    Lay wins -£80 + £61.25 +£26 (from £30 free bet)= £7.25.

    Please check these figures yourself.

    Ah I thank you!

In the end I laid £60.24 because when it was confirming the lay odds changed to 2.42.

Brain is still being a bit slow here, so I am best to back on Exchange and does how much I back effect anything? Only I can’t grasp how if I back £10 and then bet loses that this £10 doesn’t come off of my exchange profit?

Apologies for more questions, think j have thought about it for too long…

Thanks for the help so far.

Sorry literally read that again and can see you have taken the new back bet cost off the profit of the original lay bet.

    Thanks for all the help,
I will go an back right now!
