Betdaq, bet £10 on virtuals, get £10 if loses

  • Use promo code V1010 for your first virtual bet with betdaq, get £10 free bet if loses.

Unfortunately the fee bet can only be used on virtuals…

I know, i know, this is not matched betting but im sure a few on here might like to have a go 😉

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

    Interesting.

Is it not a bit like having an exchange for rolling a dice?

Do you know what I mean? The horse has a random number generator giving him 2/1. If you can back him for high enough over 2/1 taking account of the overround and the commission then its long term profit.

It’s not like real racing where you don’t know the real probability or it changes as info on the going and runners comes out. These virtual races have a well defined probability so it’s easy to work out value.

Usually they are a waste of money but if you can name your own price?

@Fog How can you tell what odds the random number generator is giving each horse? Is there ever enough liquidity on these to get a good price?

Well to be honest Burger Me I’m not sure for the future races. But the current race has the odds generated by the computer printed on screen. It is possible that a bookie is carrying the same meetings (I know a lot of them do Sprint Valley and a couple of others), so maybe the odds are on some bookie. Or perhaps Betdaq are putting up some prices on their own exchange to get the ball rolling. Otherwise I don’t understand how there can be accurate back/lays for races 30 mins in the future where the prices haven’t been displayed on the screen for the virtual race yet.

There is not much liquidity but I am noticing some money getting matched. Maybe now is a good time to play around as ppl will be throwing around a few free bets or will be a little slacker with qualifying bet knowing that they are getting the value of a free anyway.

I really doubt there is much to be made, I just find it interesting ppl will bet on something like this. If I had more free time today I would play around but I won’t be bothering!

Going to do mine tonight, will back the 2nd fav and if that loses, the free bet will go on the next 2nd fav…:)

Interesting fog, the dynamics of how these things work could be anyone’s guess (pre determined or rng) but interesting given as you say it is an exchange.

Would the result be influenced by betting, as in coded into the software to reflect movements?

The random number generator would have to be fair and be tested and licenced by some gambling authority. For a bookie to be able to fix it that the horse which makes them the most money to win would or should not be allowed. I would be outraged if the market movements were allowed to influence the result.

I followed these for a month or so on paddy because of a money back second offer and found no evidence that the races aren’t fair. What I mean is that the fav doesn’t always win but if the software has him at 2/1 he will win almost 1 in three. Just a little less often to account for the over round.
