My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

If it is a draw at half time can you lock in profit by laying 1-1 or what ever score you initially picked?
+0Jamiea, yes. Just factor in the double winnings and take 80% of that.
I’ve gone 0-0 and underlayed for risk free stab at £30
+0Considering £10 on 0-0 @9.5 with lay@11.5 was a £1.89 loss..given that if 0-0 we receive £85 free bets *80% = £63 / £1.89 = 32/1 effective odds of a 0-0 draw making it very profitable in the long run. Guess its up to you guys how you play it. Shame West Ham just scored however.
+0Quiet day today? Well still got the FA Cup game tonight for double odds Peterborough vs West Brom.
+0Tough game to call today will west brom turn up they often struggle in the cups against lower opposition, a few pundits have put Peterborough to win so don’t know how to call this
+0if you don’t know then has to be 1-1
+0I have to disagree I think 0-0 is the best option. Depending on your qualifying loss it gives you effective odds of 0-0 of around 30/1 which is obviously much higher than the actual odds. The problem with 1-1 is that it can very easily be 1-0 at half time and therefore not a draw at half time. Also an option with the 0-0 is if it does manage to be 0-0 at half time you can lay this for around £20 guaranteed profit, what i’ll be doing anyway.

Can be 1-1 at HT too Ryan
+0Well obviously. But 0-0 provides it HAS to be a draw at half time…a correct score of 1-1 has more outcomes. Therefore you can’t work out effective odds on 1-1 as it can be 1-1 but not a draw at half time.
+0Overlayed on a 1-2 scoreline. If it’s not a draw at HT but scoreline is still possible will back it a tad to cover loss.
+0@Tony- I’m liking your small guaranteed profits from this on 0-0’s as there have been plenty recently and it all adds up! However, isnt 80% very assumptive? I can’t remember many times I’ve extracted exactly the profit I’ve banked on extracting so may not be as profitable as we’d like.
+0Yes I’m a glass half full type of guy!
+0If you can’t extract 80% of a free bet you’re not looking hard enough, simple as really. You can definitely get more than 80% quite often provided you don’t have to bet inplay.
+00-0/1-1 is 16/1 on paddy
1-1/1-1 is 25/1So add I guess about 10/1 (or something between 8/1 and 25/2) of 1-1 after level at half time.
The 0-0 is 17/2 so in paddy’s opinion the 0-0 is more likely to give us what we are looking for.
+0Ryan
Do you always get 80%+ as for me it is more like 73%++0
