Betfair Sportsbook vs Betfair exchange

  • For the last few weeks I’ve been hitting the Betfair c4 promo hard, whilst laying on smarkets. My question is, if I need to use the betfair exchange to lay a bet (when smarkets don’t offer a market), won’t the sportsbook see this and realise I’m a matched bettor? As I imagine it’s pretty obvious with the precise lay bet we usually offer eg £5.73 (whatever the mb calc tells me too) as opposed to a normal bettor who would use round numbers?

I’ve never seen this raised so I assume people have no problem using both the Sportsbook & exchange?

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

It is raised many a time, however that’s for Paddy/Betfair.Exch so a definite no for Betfair Sports/Betfair.Exch

Don’t lay on Betfair Exchange if using Paddy or Betfair Sportsbook. Otherwise you’ll draw attention.

I’d definitely refrain from doing that. Pretty sure it’s in the T&C’s of the Betfair offer too. And like feltt1p says, be wary of PP & Betfair exchange also

Is there actually any evidence of Paddy cross checking accounts with betfair or is it just speculation and hearsay?

Maybe I could of worded it better. I’m not suggesting backing and laying with bf Sportsbook and exchange as that would be silly.

What I’m worried about is surely betfair sb will see I’m laying lots of bets on the exchange (which suggest I’m a matched bettor?) and possibly restrict me from Sportsbook offers?

No!… that’s what a betting exchange is… they won’t be slightly arsed if you’re laying bets on the exchange as you’re effectively handing them a cut
