Betting Resources

  • I don’t know what I want ppl to put on this thread but just stumbled across a good pod cast – “business of betting”.

Seems like some Australian production sponsored by betfair but doesn’t seem biased so far. But pretty good, just listened to an interview with Peter Webb founder of betangel and how he approaches trading – “try not to lose money”. And previous had an interview with Joseph Buchdahl who was behind football-data.co.uk who I remember as the first website that I used to access historic football results and odds many many years ago to analyse probabilities of goal scoring and estimating odds to compare with the actual odds.

Anyway it’s a good listen imo. I was thinking it would be great for scabadab while he sits on the beach next week – will satisfy his itch for info while he can’t get round the shops! And the missus will just think he is listening to the latest Zayn Malik single…..

So anyone got any decent books/podcasts/twitter accounts that they go to.

I can also mention pinnacle do a great series of blog posts on betting. etc.

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Hehe nice 1 mate. I’ll have a listen to that when I hit the beach (hopefully it will hot enough for the beach this time of year there!)

Used to study old historical football many years back (might well have been that F Data site/along with outlook newspapers!lol) Rememeber uncovering a decent edge in French Football backing 0-0s and 1-0s on betting slips that used to give same correct score odds for all euro leagues. Somehow to quite make the killing I should have (other people did) due to inexperience bet management methods- they pulled the loophole at end of season.

Will tune in when I get some time. Cheers

Just to add a couple of things I’m listening to now.

Bettingpeople is a series of interviews by Simon Nott on twitter. Richard Flint CEO of Sky bet was featured last week and spoke honestly about restriction etc. they have J4P (justice for punters) next week, J4P has reclaimed £800,000 back for punters who had their money taken unfairly by the bookies. Should be good. Also a huge back catalog of interviews with pro gamblers (eg Neil Channing, Nick Goff) and all kinds of betting people.

@_Inside_betting by Matthew Trenhaile I don’t understand any of the pod casts but listening to it makes me feel in the know. Really in depth stuff into anything to do with betting. You can find on twitter. Hardcore.
