Bonus error

  • Schoolboy error:-(

I’ve placed a £40 qualifier and a £40 bonus as a qualifier in error. The bonus bet has settled first with a £3 loss (since it was placed as a qualifier) The original qualifier is still live but stands to make a £3ish loss also. The odds for the live bet are still reasonably close. Is there a way to still save a profit from this?

    Any help appreciated 🙂

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

If I understand the issue correctly, then no, there is no way to guarantee a profit. You can minimise loss, or maybe the original qualifier bet will arb, as it sounds like you’ve not layed it (yet) so you can modify the lay depending on your attitude to risk.

What I’m struggling to wrap my head around is how a loss was made using ‘bonus’ (I assume FB) money?

If they were bonus funds rather than a free bet then you are correct to use the qualifying bet calculator.
Bonus funds usually come with wagering requirements and you either bust out or complete the wagering requirements using the qualifying bet calculator. The aim is to lose as little of the bonus funds as possible, what offer is this ?

Thank you to both of you!
I had got myself totally confused. Because I had used the calculator set as Qualifier for both bets I had it in my mind that the bonus bet was my own money but it was of course bonus money so it means I have busted out with maximum profit!

    Still learning….lol
