Yesterday was fun; quite a few 2nd places although not enough to retire just yet.

The only problem I have now is probably one which I share with a other newbies (I’ve only been doing this for about 3 months) – my exchange is spent! I started out the festival with around £400 in Smarkets and £400 in the bank and it’s gradually evaporated away into bookies’ accounts.

I have £120 in free bets that will expire soon and no way of laying them off – quite frustrating really, but I guess I shouldn’t be too down hearted. A free bet is a free bet after all.

So if any horsey people can give me advice on what to punt on today I’d appreciate it.

    …or lend me £500.

Got a good match on Zabana for sky, waiting on Ladbrokes to make sure I don’t get the favourite then cross my fingers and cheer the bugger on.

beesty I’m not sure that’s true, I think we’ll get our risk free bet but it will be reduced i.e not £50.

Ok so I have the issue that I didn’t lay any horses. So I have the odds from last night.

Should I drop the return 4.2% and go from that ?

The odds are actually higher now on smarkets.

Example Bristol 6 back last night and lay 6.4. now it’s 6.6 on Smarket

John – I’ve done these in a lucky 15 got 2 winners yesterday for 80 quid.

    1.30 black Hercules
    2.10 missed approach
    4.10 fingal bay
    5.30 sambremont

All are decent pints with free bet tokens if you can’t lay.

Do we know what price Kings Odyssey was when he was withdrawn?

    Chris 19

Ah Kings Odyssey was 19.0 when he was withdrawn, there is no rule 4 applied.

Apollo doing money back 2nd if anyone wants to add that to what youve done already .

Some dreadful odds but have found at least one horses priced higher than WH and LB to lay off.

20/1 Chris as backed and laid at 22 on betfair for sky have since done another one and taken the risk.

Term 2 in 365 says this “the 4/1 limit refers to the adjusted odds after any dead heat, rule 4 or unnamed joint / co favourite”

Basically if it goes off at sp 4/1 higher we are fine if not then we won’t get risk free if it wins.

Also interesting to see dead heat mentioned here. That would cause controversy!!!

No rule 4 applied this is perfect if true what’s the basis for this Chris?

    Chris 19

beesty rule 4 only applies when a withdrawn horse has odds of 14/1 or under.

    We’re ok.

That’s a great find Chris!!! Never knew that rule works better for us say in a race 2 or 3 were non runners at 16-25/1 it could give us a 10 percent advantage. Lovely work Chris cheers again.

Jeez Ryan, read the terms and conditions 😛

The offer applies to your first qualifying bet on a horse that runs.

You’re ok to do another so knock yourself out.

Ryan – please can you I would but get fed up with live chat. I did another horse anyway as got a good match at 11 / 11. It can go to one of your three hundred and something posts to annoy that person from last night!
