Deadline for account verification
-
It seems obvious that bookies happily let anyone deposit and wagger without the need to verify account. So my question is for how long? Is it INDEFINITELY (and without any restrictions?) as long as a withdrawal isn’t requested? I was wondering to know if it’s this ‘withdrawal request’ they use as a deadline for account verification.

New to matched betting?
My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

How long is a piece of string?
Some demand verification at the start just to keep the account open, some may ask at some future unknown point…. possibly relating to number/volume/size transactions.
Upon first withdrawal seems most common, which is just poor in my opinion. The bookie could argue you can’t launder money unless you win…. but that’s playing naive to exchanges, and they drop that nativity when it comes to gubbing/restrictions+0This is another thing that is a disgrace and needs clearing up. When a customer signs up if the bookie requires additional documentation then they should be given a week to provide it. If at the end of that week accounts are not verified then bookies suspend the account and offer the customer 14 days to provide sufficient evidence. If after that point an account can not be verified and there is money in there then their should be a body who deals with it to decide whether company or customer get any outstanding money back.
Also one framework should be agreed when giving documents. It’s amazing how I have the same set of id on my computer and send the same documents from one site to another but something is always wrong. E.g one picture is too light. One picture isn’t clear enough just blatant signs of keeping money as long as they can sometimes.
