Did smarkets just……….?

  • I must not be the only one! On the Bfred mb2nd offer I chose that retard of a horse Dutch Art Dealer. It refused to race! Went on chat with Tote and Betfred and they said they will not be returning anything due to their terms… was pointless arguing and quit the chat… then I went on smarkets and I think they got my lay bet as a winning one???? Because the horse didn’t even race and the latest 3 transactions on smarkets are: Bet fully matched – sell DAD. BET WON – SELL DAD. BACKER’S STAKE 47.35 5.3 ODDS IN/OUT- BALANCE –
Market settled – To win in 7 furlongs Flat Handicap Backer’s stake — Odds — ”IN/OUT-46.40. Balance 1,407.35. Did they count it as if my horse raced and didn’t win?

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Yes, could’ve gone extremely sour if it won, but you got lucky this time

Why extremely lucky? Would we usually loose also the lay?

I’m confused- both bookie and exchange treated it the same so you lost your bet and won the lay?

After reading that back of course! Presumed Tony got his stake back by how bewildered his post was…

I don’t know if harris is taking the piss in some way… can someone that understands what I mean explain what happened to a horse racing newbie – or is this MSE’s forum 2.0? I know the horse didn’t run and BF and TS won’t refund our stakes – but have Smarkets paid out as a winning lay or have they returned my stake?

I think only you can answer that, but it looks like the lay bet won. Maybe look at your account rather than laying into people

Refused to race is not the same as a non runner. BUT some bookies do refund refused to race horses from time to time as goodwill, which is a case where you could get stake returned and win your lay bet

Did you watch the race at all? It did run, just out of the stalls about 5 seconds later than the rest…

Therefore, it raced so everything is normal. Betfred lost, Smarkets won. You didn’t lose. Simple? Yes?

If anyone manages to get the money back from them let me know as I also had this horse

Not taking the p*ss Tony, I misunderstood your post. Your horse lost meaning you lost your stake and won the lay. No different to any other horse bet you’ve placed.

Any horse that is in the stalls when they open (flat race) or is lined up behind the tape when the starter drops the flag to start the race (jumps race) is considered a starter. If the horse then decides to refuse to race or unships rider etc that is just tough tits on anyone who backed it.
