Either Team to Win and BTTS

  • This might be obvious to some of you, but I haven’t seen it blogged, so…

    Fred seems keen on boosting Either Team to Win and Both Teams to Score at the moment, I’ve seen a few of these recently and there was one just before the Southampton Chelsea game this afternoon.

    These boosts can present a decent arb opportunity in the same way as other boosts, even though you can’t lay this outcome directly.

    Just take the lay prices from the exchange for the relevant outcomes (i.e. (i) Team A Win/Yes and (ii) Team B Win/Yes) from the ‘Match Odds and BTTS’ market and put them into a dutching calculator (like the Oddschecker one). This will allow you to derive a composite lay price (by dividing Stake into Return – doesn’t matter what stake you use at this point) to put into a standard matched betting calculator.

    This will tell you how profitable the arb might be and what your lay stake needs to be. You can then put this stake back into the dutching calculator (along with the original lay prices) to derive how much you need to lay each selection for.

    Today’s boost price was 3.50 and the composite lay price was around the 3.01 mark shortly after it was posted, which guaranteed a profit of over £12 for a £100 stake, which isn’t too shabby, or you could have underlaid in the usual way for more if the bet won.

    Just so you can keep a weather eye open for the next one!

  • New to matched betting?

    My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

    No idea what you are saying but these can be layed on Betfair but I’ve really seen them offer enough value to do much more than break even.

    Thanks Blue, never considered doing these boosts but would also look at straight dutching it against both ‘Draw and Yes’ and ‘BTTS No’. I assume this would give a similar return?

    Must admit I’m struggling to get my head around this one, but will try to do the maths and see if I can work it out.

    @MonkeyTennis yeah, that should work, as long as you are covering all outcomes. Could save the commission if spreading the bets across different bookmakers, although the saving might be eroded by worse odds.

    @arb
    it’s not as bad as it might look, just work through an example.
