Extracting profit

  • I’ve had an amazing Sunday and now more than £120 of freebies are waiting to be extracted… I’m curious what do you put your free bets on? Horses, correct score (what I’ve been trying to do), arbs? What’s the best way?

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Depends on the bookie for me; sky watch their horse odds like a hawk so I usually put them on football – there’s usually some reasonably tight odds on something. Whereas 888 hardly pay any attention to their horse odds until near the off, so you can get good extraction that way.

Yep, horses – look for an arb. Not difficult to find with a bit of practice. Watch the expiry dates on the FBs.

Glad you are happy now – a day or so ago you were swearing black and blue at how “disgusting” it was bookies didn’t give away money.

You need practice and patience (and low expectations the way things are atm) which I’m sure you’re learning.

    Horses for me too.

But also look for football price boosts for example with sky which often give good extraction.

it doesn’t really matter as long as you get decent matches on high odds. EG Plymouth v Liverpool is ok at the moment 12/12.5 – get about 89% return on your free bets. I usually use oddsmonkey’s free accounts. Sort the odds so that the highest odds are at the top. Then get the closest match on high odds. Be aware that horse odds change quite quickly especially near the off. Also there isn’t much liquidity on horses until nearer the off. Football odds don’t change too quickly but you may have to leave quite a bit of cash in the exchange for a couple of days. Make sure you have enough cash in the exchange to cover your bet before you place it. To lay off £120 you may need more than a grand in the exchange to cover

    With £5 FB’s I lay in-race (especially hurdles) – have usually gotten 100%+ extraction.
(Really annoying if it goes onto win though).

Lads what do you think is a better tactic for the BFred/Tote MB2nds: Put 50 on one horse or put 25 on two?

Betfred/Tote are the same company. So if you back different horses with each of them on the same race it’s pretty obvious what you’re doing.

If you had any on betfair sportsbook i spotted a horse today that they had @ 7.0 when it was 5.2 on smarkets. Didnt win which was a shame lol.

Are BetFair prices generally much better? If so, then the commission shouldn’t be a problem

The exchange is usually the same as smarkets. This was on their sportsbook though which im gubbed for free bets on.

You probably got gubbed for the 3/1 offer they’re running? Been trying it alongside 365’s 4/1 – nearly 10 bets and not a single damn winner!!!!!!!!! And I’m not even backing 50/1 no hopers, always the nearest to the min. odds and the available race with the least horses.
