Free bet mistake question
-
I was doing the Skybet offer today, money back if your horse loses. It lost and I got my £25 free bet, trouble is I got distracted and layed the bet off as if it was a qualifier for £1 loss.
What I was meant to do as per Matt’s instructions was to extract £20 from my £25 free bet!
My question is could I pop £25 in my Skybet account and then treat it as a free bet and minimise my previous error? I think I can but I’d like some confirmation I’m not thinking about it the wrong way.
Help appreciated.

New to matched betting?
My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

@theRealKarlos basically you have made a mistake that unfortunately can’t be rectified just take this as a learning curve we have all made mistakes under pressure luckily I didn’t make to many today but I have made clangers in the past and laid off the wrong horse altogether and lost £150 but I recovered and so will you.
+0Thanks for taking the time to answer, I shall be more organised tomorrow 🙂 Best of luck
+0Course he can correct this mistake, provided the event he used the bet on hasn’t happened yet – what did you use it to bet on Karlos?
Tell us exactly what you have backed at Sky and laid at the exchange (including which Exchange it is). You can likely Cash Out the exchange bet for a (possibly) small loss if it is Betfair, or even if not you can just do some sums and back the outcome on the exchange to ‘buy back’ some of the liability
Give us the details and let’s see what can be done 🙂
+0Its in play at the moment, Newport County 0-0 Hartlepool 🙁
Betfair:Newport County laid @2.08 stake £25.25 with liability £27.27
Skybet is £25 to win Newport @2.05
Cashout available is £45.37 Profit £18.10
