Gubbed by Ladbrokes and William hill

  • Gutted been gubbed by Ladbrokes and WH both within a week, I agree it’s all luck, William hill account for 4 months , done no mug betting at all, just done the horses when MB2 promotion on, not complaining as prob going to happen just had no time to mug bet, but Ladbrokes had account for 2 months , only betting on horses, every Wednesday would do 3-5 mug bets, and place a £10 accumulator on those selections, Saturday would do the MB2 race and 2 mug bets on other races, also a £10 accumulator on 4 horses from the days bets , have also placed some money on the slots with Ladbrokes, make out I liked the horses and slots. been doing matched betting for just over a year and have profited £15k with a bit of slots bonuses aswell so thought I had right tactics for Ladbrokes, did not do any othe promotions with them I.e both teams to score. Like other on here I believe it’s all down to luck if you get gubbed, so make the most of the offers while you can

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Wouldn’t say its down to luck, what I said and some people had a fit hahaha! Maybe in your case your comparing two different bookies which have different criteria, in my case I had two accounts with the same bookie. But hey ah well nice profit whilst it lasted i’m sure you still have other bookies to continue to abuse!

Similar experience here – they’re certainly trying to clear out the MBs but defeats the purpose of all the fancy promos etc.
Crux here is they want losers like those punters who sit in front of their FOBTs in their shops and keep feeding in the cash!!
Poor and shortsighted business models they have though.

    Bad luck swan!

Ladbrokes seem to restrict very quickly. Nothing can save you there! Maybe you should have been mug betting on will hill as they have the better offers and easier to keep onside.

Nice profit though. I’m closing in on 10K just sorry it is € and not £.

Agreed with what you said in your post the other day Ryanb and yes I will abuse as many bookies as I can while it lasts :), can’t really understand them , we are looking to loose our original bet so horse finishes second, then loose our free bet at long odds, perfect punters as far as I can see, I don’t want the bookies money just their free bets, the only time I want their money is when BOG comes into play, but recently I’ve been putting my bets on night before and find that the odds are going down on my bets

SA18swan’s post above is a prime example of matched bettors failing to understand what they’re doing. “I don’t want the bookie’s money, just their free bets”. What?! When they give you a free bet, they are giving you free value. All you are doing is selling that free bet at the exchange to guarantee yourself a return.

Also, I really wish people would stop saying it’s down to luck if you get restricted/banned. Obviously there is variance/noise surrounding the decision to ban you, but that’s trivial. It’s not like they randomly rearrange scorelines from a weekend to decide which account number is next to be banned.

Clearly don’t rearrange scorelines, but their methods are not consistent at all.

Mark I am having trouble keeping accounts open.

What do you think is the most important thing to keep accounts open?

    Every bookie is very different.

I doubt that ANY match bettor kept paddy during their mass gubbings. I doubt ladbrokes lasts long for anyone regardless.

I really want to keep will hill. What do I do?

    Pray FOG, just pray. hahaha

On a serious note Mark seems to know a lot about it so maybe he has all the tips you need. On the other hand it seems to be so vague what they look for, you could already be almost restricted for all you know…

In some post Mark said that he had like 10k in winnings at WH and 1k of that was MB. Maybe the key is to be mug betting 90% of the time? That sounds like a job to me. My dream is to have a regular job as a prime time, having MB/arbing as a part time hobby which gives me an income like a well-paid clerk doing 9-5 jobs, retiring when I’m 45 years old with a bankroll at €700 000. I think that MB/arbing is the best investment form if you don’t have a next level, high tech idea. Shares/equity fonds gives an average of 10%/year but have a variance of hell. MB/arbing is, if you play it right, linear if you’re good, exponential if you can automate it. I hope to get good at it, but I wish to automate it (programmer).

No he said 90% of bets were not offers. Which I assume he meant no offer on the particular event – but got some advantage through acca insurance or bore score refund…

Mug betting loses money. No way he made 9K mug betting.

Bookies hate arbers even more than they hate matched bettors so I don’t think that’s the way.

Mark has been really helpful on acca and other tips. And fair enough he wants to keep some secrets to himself.

Mark bottom line is all I want from the bookmakers is a free bet, I’m not backing a horse to win or come each way, I baking him to come second in a race, or if it’s money back 2nd to sp, i want the sp to win and my horse to come second, if it’s money back if both teams score, I don’t sit there hoping my 1-0 correct score bet wins, i want both teams to score and my bet to loose, so bottom line is all I want from the bookies is a free bet, yes it takes more work hence my profit over the year, if I didn’t understand MB would I make that profit ?? All I’m trying to say is I’ve tried all creitria to keep accounts open, mug betting, not withdrawing , not taking up every offer, using my free bets on less than odds of 6/1 . This is my 3rd laddies account to be gubbed, and every one I’ve tried different tactics , trying to learn from previous mistakes, this time I thought I had it sussed , but no, to me if your a MB your going to get gubbed at some point, its a matter of when and not if, and that’s where the luck comes in

SA18swan, you are missing the point.

I get that you’re trying to lose with the bookie, but are you good at losing? If you can accurately pick losers then get laying on the exchanges and make your millions.

If you mean you’re picking long odds for your free bets, then guess what – once in a while you’ll hit and get all of your value from the bookie in one go.

Mark is spot on …. the guy says “all I done is MB2nds and I agree it’s all luck” … errrr …naw it’s because you made it plain and obvious you’re a promo abuser.

Bookies these days ban everyone who has a slight idea of what there doing and the reason for this is because of the free money they make from the FOBTS. They won’t take a decent bet from non match bettors either and ban everyone. Ban the FOBTS and these “bookmakers” will have to become proper bookmakers again. All there traders do is follow the betfair price they don’t take a view and price accordingly. BAN THE FOBTS

Loveday, yes you are correct in the respect that they will not take bets due to their hefty income from these shitty machines. I cannot fathom how anyone would play these things in all honesty as they are fixed outcomes. Effectively the addicts and mugs putting endless cash into them are killing the gambling industry for the rest of us.
