Have I just made a stupid mistake??????

  • I’m a bit confused here……..I must have made a mistake, but not really sure what’s going on.

I’ve got money tied up in Realdealbet and was looking through the horse races for close matches.
Looking at the 2.30 at Kelso it seems that the place odds are completely wrong

If you look at place odds (1st 2 places) for most of the horses they are higher that the odds to win the race.
I just backed one at 5 and laid it at 1.92………..Only £10 but I’m guaranteed a £15 profit.

So wtf? I’m assuming they wont pay out at odds of 5 when the horse is only 3.0 to win the race?

I’m thinking I’m about to lose some cash!

One horse is 10.0 to win the race and 34.0 to come int he top two!!!
    They lay is 4.8!

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Just had a look at this. You have read the market correct, but it is clearly a mistake by the bookie.

Highly unlikely they will honour the price you have taken and put it down to a palatable error.

Seem strange. Sure you’re not looking at some kind of forecast market? If the odds are that far out it’ll not get paid, it’s effectively a palpable error, so they are wishing their rights to void the bet. Make are you’re not gonna get hurt by taking unrealistic lay liabilities imo

I’ve just backed it for £5 now the odds have drifted.

I think I either win or lose £10 now

Hope the horse is a donkey!

Always an interesting one this. I benefited in Aug 2014 on sky bet when they had 20 capital one 2nd round matches up and the method of victory was incorrect. Odds were basically 10x as high as what I would expect meaning games were well worth punts to go to extra time and pens. In the night I staked 1k (25 on any team to win in extra time and 25 for any on pens) in the end sky voided it giving people refunds back but people kicked off on Twitter so the next day they honoured bets minus stake. Woke up to 4.5k in my account and a 3.5k profit.

    Wow beesty that is crazy!

Can’t believe you risked that much!
I only put £10 on as I didn’t fancy the risk of not being paid.
I’m crapping it over £10 as it is ha ha

They’ve updated the odds now to 8/11!!!

I’ve just had to back another £10 on betfair. At least the odds have drifted a bit.

    Bloody horse better place now

Well I guess beesty hadnt layed his bets so he didnt risk anything.

Worst was that he was going to get his bets voided and money back.

Well that too, but I’m guessing if the odds were 10 times what they should have been and he spread his money across 80 outcomes (40 teams to win in ET, 40 teams to win on PENS) then I would guess he would have been very unlucky not to have made profit on those bets.

Hope you got the correct pay out ice! And yeah when I did it long before doing this I put 40 diff bets on 25 each as I had either team to win in extra time or pens. The lowest odds game was 33/1 up to 100/1 so all I needed really was one game to be a draw out of 20. In the end there were 5 with 2 going to pens. What really helped were people ranting the next day to skybet on Twitter about their 1 pound bet on it. This meant they honoured them all and helped me out a lot!
