Horse refund if 2nd etc, lock in profit?

Hi Matt,

Just wondering if you considered doing a guide/calculator for horse refunds if 2nd etc, where you can lock in a small profit pre-race by underlaying the win bet and placing an additional lay bet on the place (but not backing the place)? Or not worthwhile profit wise/flawed?

i.e. LaySWin=(BackOdds*BackS-refund)/LayOddsWin & LayStakePlace=refund/LayOddsPlace.

Jim, I’m sure you’re onto something here but I’d have to model some scenarios to decide if it was worth it. Maybe someone with better maths skills could have a go!
