How close should the odds be?

  • I’m relatively new to matched betting but have been observing the techniques after I learnt of a friend who has been doing this for years.

I don’t profess to know it all. In fact, I still have limited knowledge. However, there are a couple of questions I would like to ask:

    1) How easy is it to stay under the radar?
    2) when placing qualifier or SNR “Risk Free” bets, I don’t ever pick arbs (for example, 10 on the bookmaker and 9 on the exchange). I always look for as near as 100% match as possible. However, is a 100% match acceptable? I.e. 8/8.

    Thanks!

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Their is no particular recipe for staying under the radar. It seems like some people have a little bit of bad luck and get gubbed right away, while others can do what ever they want without consequences. I think the strategies that are described in Matt’s mug betting guide are worth applying.

A 100% match is all you can ask for and often not achievable. It depends on the particular bookie and needs to be investigated if you want to squeeze the most value out of a bonus. I usually check the website several times and compare the odds of all 1X2 markets to draw a conclusion what’s a good match for a particular bookie.
