In Shop Matchedbetting

  • I’ve been going about 9 months at matched being now, and finally beginning to see a slow down in profits, mostly due to gubbing (like we all must be).

    I always knew this would be a limited time thing, and thought 6 months was probably close, so I’m not too upset. But I have been thinking about ways to get a little more out of it! and so I have a question;

Does anyone on here do matched being using bookmaker shops instead of/ as well as online?

If so, in wondering what sort of offers are available in shops, and which ones are the best to go to??

Went past a couple in the car today, seemed to be advertising price boosts as much as anything. Thinking I’ll do some leg work and get round a few next week, but if anyone is already doing this, the input would be appreciated!

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

There is a separate thread called ‘Sharbing’ something like that, have a look for it and give it a read.

    Here is the thread

If your really serious about it check out the forum I mentioned in the above thread. Its not easy money though, takes far more time and effort than normal matched betting.

It can be very profitable if you have enough shops locally. Best one’s are Hills, Fred and Coral.
For the weekend they release coupons on Wednesday and for midweek games on Monday. You have to collect the coupons and check them against exchange. Usually there are some arbs available, though some get cut. They’re usually only a couple % arbs so need to back in hundreds to make it worthwhile (hit a few shops).

Apart from that Fred does some nice boosts from time to time. They usually have a midday (12pm) boost online/in-store and on saturday they do boosts on C4 horses (9:30 – 11:30); they post it on twitter or you can check what they are in-store.

There are also the boosted grid prices available at 9am for 15 mins on saturday.

I often have to use a free bet of 50 every week from the acca’s refund which I can only do instore, it can be tricky but I always get my 80% out of it.

They often push a lot of offers in the store too, but they might only be there for 20 mins, a lot of luck involved being there at the right time.

Saturday morning seems to be a good time though for the offers in store. Often around the 10-12 mark.

Ladbrokes do money back 2nd on channel 4 races in their ships, max free bet is £10 but if you live where there are a few laddies around you could do we with it. Especially in the 5 horse races!

They do best odds guaranteed until 1pm if you put “BOG” on your slip.

I think you need a “grid” card for this to work but you don’t have to link it to your online account, mine isn’t as the staff member actually told me I would get better offers from them if I didn’t!

Laddies also honour the prices that they publish in the press from 9-9:15 in shop so you could potentially so a bit of sharbing if you get your racing post early enough as they send the prices to press the night before.

The only downside I can see here is if you need a “grid” card you would need to acuire several to do the offer in different shops. I think the free bets are credited to your grid account and you use the machines they are advertising to put them on. Never had one yet so unsure.

do they have welcome offers in the shops?

They had a £20 free bet when you pre load your edge card, or they did when I signed up.

Plus on their adverts now if you do a £5 footy acca you get a £2 bet too and you get acca insurance on that. So of you wanted to do a 50 acca and had 10 shops nearby you could conceivably get an effective £20 free bet for putting it on plus lay it off for guaranteed profit etc. Lot of legwork though.

Coral also have a signup offer on their connect card although it changes regularly, will no doubt be FA cup themed tomorrow but should be good for a £20 free bet too.

I don’t like the sound of this ‘grid’ card. Maybe it’s fine in a city but in a small town the staff in shops haven’t a clue my online betting.

Could it get you restricted in shop too if they identify you as a cetain kind of bettot?

The way I see it its like a tesco club card, you’re identifiable to them and they can track your bets. It’s up to you if you use it or not but the best offers are using the card. When I signed up I had to show no ID or prove my identity. Same for collecting bets, so in theory you could probably use bogus details but who knows down the line.

Especially if you look under 21 you may still have to show.

Here in Ireland there’s 40 worth of free bets if you sign uo the grid, so I think I will do it when I’m in another city someday, just pop in and get the 40 in free bets.
Not around the local shops though

Anyone know how many acca money backs you can place on one grid card when in store?I can see from the coupon you have 3 lines.

I have 3 different Ladbrokes stores I pass when doing my rounds at my part time job.
