Mad Few Days!

  • With the Ryder cup, prem footy and the odd horse race I have made £170 quid since Friday and have £105 free bets to convert.

I have a £2000 float, at what point I had £20 in my current account and a fiver available in Smarkets! Anyway, back to real life today!

Hope you all had a similar weekend.

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Dan87 keep us in the loop if u think its UK too? By 2 I didn’t mean 2 of the same though…more 2 different accas on 1 coupon. Thanks to Scotland its not an issue today (terrible team and to think they actually laughed at england in euros!) but for future advice should I put them on separate sheets/slips so can collect separate?

Sub tone I get around 85 percent off my free bets by doing draw doubles and sequentially laying them through. I look at the matches very quickly to work out which 2 I want to do.

Last week I was a little worried as did 8 accas exactly the same in 8 different shops within a 2 hour period but luckily had no issue claiming any of them.

Dan I love that idea mate. Have found 5 laddies on my walk but not tried it because wasn’t sure if you needes a grid card for acca insurance. Also I find the coupon odds are terrible when compared to pp.

I do love making up to the staff how unlucky I was when one let me down even though secretly it’s what I wanted all along!

P.s. those machines interest me a lot. I’m still doing ok online ATM with my each way arbing but surely I could sit in a shop for a few hours doing ew arbing as the shops have loads of machines always free.

@subtone, are you in Ireland or UK? Because I’m not sure if the machines in UK are same. I know they offer roulette and other casino games but you might want to check about the footie and acca insurance. Yeah the backing 3 outcomes is good alright, how many times have we picked one outcome before to lose and we’re stuck laying the whole acca then.
I never settle for less than 96% from FBs, usually get the 100%. It’s easy on the horses. I wouldn’t worry too much if you can only get 80% though because you’ll find if you do them on the horses that you’ll get BOG which will makes up for whatever percentage you lost on previous ones.
I could any number of accas on at same time in shop, average maybe 5/6 per shop. But there’s spread over a few days. When weekend coupons go up Wednesday or Thursday I’m straight on them and often still doing more Saturday afternoon in game suits. I’m wary of shop managers and staff though, I don’t do anything stupid and hopefully people reading this will also try to be careful. There’s no need to be paranoid in shops but don’t do anything blatant that could set off a wave.

    @matchedem
yes try to use separate coupons mate because it’s one FB per customer so if they see you getting 2 from 1 then they could refuse you the 2nd FB. Just pretend like you fancied another acca after placing the 1st. Or that you don’t like tickets so long that they resemble the bill of a wedding.

@beetsy you don’t need a grid card for acca insurance with laddiess. But as we both agree their odds are much worse. I find if you’re trying to lose the 1st leg purposely though that this doesn’t matter. The bad thing about them is though that they insist that FBs won on footie mostly have to be used on footie again, which is a little harder to get high % from the extraction. But it’s still okay.
I know what you mean about the sob story of one leg letting the acca down haha. Bit of acting involved too lol

@subtone you asked about a weekly figure. I don’t keep my MB figures seperate I throw them all together including horses and all other offers but I’m expecting 5k from all betting this month (including proper betting, yes you can make money from it doubters, we’re not all mugs), but I’m expecting 3k of that 5k to come from MB, a lot of which these accas make up. I currently have 1.2k in FBs in my wallet to convert with more running today another wave of beautiful international games coming this week. The beauty about these acca FBs is though that they have the longest expiry dates. With padddiessss it’s 2 weeks AFTER you collect the FB, so no rush. I’m into the shops to do more offers anyway.

Hope this helps lads, sounds like ye are doing well already. Be smart and we;re cool.

MB is dead, long live MB!

Love that response dan and well done for making such a great amount I do believe the amounts from my past experiences and am guessing you may be doing this full time now like myself.

Started recording my winnings since middle of September an am averaging 90 a day (2.7k a month) that average will drop as going on a holiday and there are 1/2 days a week I try not too bet just to have a bit of normality around.

Your knowledge of shops has helped me immensely with confidence and I still know I can build this up over time. I love the fact those 50 accas look pretty muggish to the shop owner.

Thanks to everyone for the useful information on this thread.

Just one key point to note about the PP machines re accas: the in-shop screen promoting the 5-fold+ Acca refund says that when it comes to Betting Machines, the minimum odds are 1/5 (1.2), whereas over the counter that restriction doesn’t seem to apply.

@petronius I did see the 1.5 min odds on machines but also saw 3 selections… not sure yet for sure what it is.

Hi guys I’m really interested in starting up on the football acca insurance. Just a few questions really to help me along the way as I’m a bit confused as some people do the acc a different way.
    What bookie ?
Please blog a recent acc you have placed or even better an acc that you will be putting on soon.
And then show me how much to lay and at what odds for each leg.
Or just show me the selections in the acc if you don’t lay the acc.
And anything else you might think will help me please.
Many thanks to any replies guys I will really appreciate it.

Quick update ref the machines (UK)…

Did 3 Accas on the self serve machines in the shop today, had the same T&C as online, i.e. min 5 selections, 1.20 ods etc etc, and had full listing of matches for the next week or so. Machine took my cash, and when asking the staff about claiming my winnings she explained that I just scan my slip on a machine in the shop and take thew cash ticket to the counter.

As for Free Bets, the machine will print a Free Bet coupon which then can be used over the counter in the usual ways (any market, 17 days post collection etc etc).

Only issue I had was the odds. Did not check the odds vs the shop price, but when laying the odds later on, I found all of them at least -0.10 from the online price. My first match was Holland Vs France so not an issue with unusual markets etc, but will be more thorough next time I place by checking current online prices.

Followed Dan87’s method for the 3 accas, fingers crossed they run through so I can see what the free bet claim process is like.

Dan, I understand what you are doing apart from how to underlay the 3 initial bets (to cover every possibility on the first bet) – how do you do this so that you come out without a loss on the first part of the acca? Thanks

    Hi ratlover.

Ppl won’t tend to give tips on here or information on their bets.

    1. A bookie could identify your account and decide to gub you based on info posted here.
    2. If a lot of ppl are on the same bet at the same time, basically copying each other then the bookie can cluster them together and decide that they are all in cahoots, or following some tipping service and decide to gub.

Also I hate giving advice here that is not related to matched betting. And I don’t lay my acca so its not risk free. Follow at your own risk!

The best Acca offer I think at the moment is Sporting Bet. There are no min odds. You can get 4 refunds per day.

So my tip is: on the right hand side of their page they have “Most Popular Bets”. At the moment they have England, Denmark, Czech, Poland and Germany as top 5 popular bets. The popular bets are good for 3 reasons:

    1. Blend in with normal punters.
    2. They are usually short odds which is ideal for an acca refund offer, ppl like betting on the fav.
    3. Popular games have more action on the exchange (now I don’t lay on the exchange but still check the exchange prices to check value).

So just stick these on an acca and that’s it!

Okay so its not really that simple I also check the odds England are 1.65/1.68, Denmark 1.571/1.61, Czech 1.285/1.31, Poland is 1.142/1.19 and Germany 1.09/1.13.

So if you combine the lay odds its 4.76 => estimate 20.99% chance your acca wins. And a bit more complicated but I have it programmed in a spreadsheet to calculate 40% chance only one leg loses. So if you do the Maths 20% chance of returning £78.66 (winning 53.66) plus 40% chance of winning £25 FB (after taking into account extraction and subtracting original stake its a small lose of £5) and 40% chance of losing stake so -£25. Expected value is 20%*53.66 – 40%*5 – 40%*25 = £4.31.

But I have a spreadsheet that does all that to figure out the value. I’ll usually accept 10% to 20% expected return on investment.

You also will have a few free bets from other bookies from acca’s over the weekend. So I would also think about having a free bet on Germany to draw, England to lose, Denmark to lose etc. to hedge your bets. Again checking the value of the odds against the exchange but not laying the free bets. So Slovenia to win (England lose) is 6.5/7.0, so good enough value. It just covers you for if something goes wrong with your acca. Probably wouldnt take Germany to draw as the bookie is not offering good value (8.5 vs 12.0 at exchange) – so would be waste of a free bet.

It works out because short odds give good value for the acca (more likely to hit the refund) and long odds gives best extraction from free bets.

Anyway I’ll do 4 today on sporting bet and try and not put Germany in every single one – because if they lose/draw then all 4 are screwed up. No reason to only do 4, you could do 5 or 6 but if all lose by one leg you only get 4 refunds. It’s unlikely all will lose by one leg though. I’ll try and spread it around so I don’t have an over reliance on any team. But I also won’t put Germany win on one acca and Germany draw on another with the same bookie as if they see that I am systematically covering all outcomes then they won’t like that at all.

If I am near a shop I will do one in paddy power. I’m skipping BetVictor today because they have a min odds of 1.25 and not much selections available close to that on popular matches, too many really short favs. And I have an acca still running on BetMcLean due to finish today and should get a refund from that today and they only give one refund per day so no point in me doing another there – but if you want to the matches are perfect for 4 very short favs and then a 2/1 or 3/1 shot to achieve their min odds. These kind of accas (4 short odds and 1 longer) tend to come out the best value because it is maximising the chance of hitting the refund – but it has to be really really short odds. I am always calculating value based on exchange but I find that I need not bother – when I stick to popular games and short odds around 1/4 and preferable lower it always calculates as good value.

Wow fog that is some reply and really appreciated. It is still a little confusing, and as you say we can’t post our selections on here which would have been good to help the beginner along the way ie me lol.
I was thinking if we are not laying the acc, would it be advisable to not put a risky selection in like England at 4/6, hoping that the acc wins if we pick 5 well odds on chances. Rather than hoping 1 leg let’s us down to cash in on a free bet. Thinking that to hit an acc at say 2/1 or 3/1 would be more profitable than winning a free bet from 1 leg letting us down.

    FoG_BLoG 59

Yes ratlover – I think you have the idea. England is a bit risky. Ideally all your selections will be much closer to 1/4 and preferably lower.

I just put England in as an example and I like sticking to the popular selections to blend in. It still calculates as good value.

Obviously winning the acca is more profitable. But the value is coming from the refund, so the acca that maximises the probability of getting a refund is best value long term. You will win some/lose some and that will about even out to a small loss – but the more refunds that you hit the more overall profit long term.

It’s not necessary to get too bogged down in the numbers, or find the perfect acca. There is enough wriggle room to still make a profit overall even if you aren’t doing them 100% efficiently.

Also if you are not laying, then you are at the mercy of variance and if all your acca’s are reliant on the same 4 or 5 big teams then you have all your eggs in the one basket. So yep, I have actually thrown England into one or two of my acca’s today.

FoG, good info about sportingbet, have you had any issue sticking 3-4 same selections in different accas with them? Can’t see anything in the terms to prevent it.

    FoG_BLoG 59

MbPunter. No problem at all. I have had a few refunds from them already with 3 teams in common across the accas.

The restriction they do have that may be a problem for some ppl is that all legs have to be played on the same day – this makes it hard for those that need to find sequential games to lay.
