Quiet period?

Just wondering if everyone else is feeling it? In the past month or two it feels like things have really wound down. Considering how much horse racing and football has been on, seems odd.
Examples of the downturn:
888 cutting most of their offers
Skybet reducing their moneyback on horses to £20
Betfred haven’t done a full meeting in a long time
Bet365 risk free inplay – havent seen one in a while (but I’m gubbed)
Betfred’s January Sales deal was atrocious – nothing to be had at all
Haven’t seen an offer on a bookmaker such as 32red in months
Matt’s blog is basically only refund triggers at the moment, and place offers. These were the least lucrative offers from the average MBer’s perspective.
I signed up with OddsMonkey and their deals were proper scraps! A lot of their deals were just scraps at best and not even worth doingI am of course gubbed from most places, so I can’t really say if everyone feels this way..

New to matched betting?
My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Matched bettings at its end. Because of its simplicity its relatively easy for anyone to make money off it and as its become more popular its cost bookies money.
+0Gods honest truth… I’m gubbed at 70% of my bookmakers and last month made the most I’ve ever made in a 31 day period!!… it just depends where you’re looking?… how about getting on these extra places and 2nd place refunds?… the Hills high 5 offer has been smashing out profits allover the place!… you may just need to move out of your comfort zone a bit
Hope things pick up for you anyway mate
+0@jameslegg97 don’t lose faith! Totally get what you’re saying and where you’re coming from, but there are still numerous opportunities out there – accumulators, arbing, each way arbing, extra places, weekly offer clubs, multi accounts, casino offers, invite only offers, etc.
To some extent, it’s all about staying ahead of the curve to make profit – for example, everyone now understands and can do a ‘bet X get Y’ promotion, but can the same be said for acca insurance offers?
+0@Tony S exactly the same for me too, never been gubbed by more bookies than I am right now, yet December 2016 was my most profitable month (since records began).
+0To be fair, I’ve not gotten on the Will Hill horse offer yet, just because I thought I was likely to get gubbed pretty sharpish when I did. Betfair Sportsbook is still yet to be gubbed so that’s another potential.
I guess for me at least, looking at the blog and the New Offers section (which I post a lot of offers in, but generally they aren’t that great..), it feels like there’s less out there.
Of the main things I’ve not gotten onto yet, its place offers (e.g. where a bookie is offering 5 instead of 4 etc). I do a lot of money back 2nd offers, mostly Fred. I’m fully gubbed and restricted at 365 so thats long gone..
It’s worth saying that it wasn’t even necessarily a bad month for me! November and December were decent months for me, as I won a lot free bets of Fred, 2nd placers, bet x get y, greyhounds, etc. But I’m maybe putting more time in than ever before to get these! I even did a BetEast sign up offer for like 7 quid profit.. I’m really getting every scrap I can for the most part. Casino & Vegas as well..
I’ll get on Will Hill horse offers if people think its not a sure fire gub after a couple of meetings!
+0Winner now have a bet £10 @ 2.00 or greater get a £10 free bet with no WR if you don’t have an account yet
Corbett Sports do a Bet £10 @ 2.00 or greater and get a £10 free bet with no WR if you register via mobile also
+0MB is dying in the old sense and tbh I’m happy it is because it became far too easy and people who never had a bet before were hoping on.
Now it’s people who used to bet before and actually understand betting, odds and the likes that are making money and that’s good because the bookies took enough money from a lot of us in the past.Keep your head up and as someone said above, move out of the comfort zone.
+0Get regular offer updates, tip and tricks, big offer alerts and more straight to your inbox.
Agreed. The offers generally now are there for punters with what needs to go on. But there’s always stuff out there you just have to find it.
+0Also the only way you can make things work is by trying them out practically for small stakes.
A lot of theories and methods are in this forum but the only way to apply them is to try it out. I used to find extra place offers at first really confusing and didn’t bother for months until it all went quiet. Hit 6th place in the grand national and since then it opened a whole new world.
If your scared about going in to other stuff do them for small stakes then look at your percentage ROI that is the key to everything. I remember being delighted I made 5 50ps from fiver each way bets when first working out ew arbs.
Good luck.
+0And to think some posters on here got driven away for even suggesting MB was dying 12 months ago.
As has been said above the bookies got wise to it whereas 2-3 years they just turned a blind eye to it.
Saturday seems to be best day but ithet morr important things take preference on Saturdays.+0I always find this time of year quiet and a difficult time to be honest.
I go to my local William Hill and Coral’s shops for the company , that together with the fact that its warmer than my flat and I can get a free coffee.
I dont do match betting but the offers on money back events tend to offset some of my losses and make some bad days not as bad.Does anyone know if it is possible to change my logon name as it doesnt look very good to others. I might come across as a lonely git but most of the time I am fine but it was over Christmas I felt it badly, everyone with their families etc. I registered one night after a few brandies and at that time the logon seemed appropriate.
+0Depends on your definition of matched betting.
Yes the offers are definitely disappearing, thats ineviatable with bookmakers reporting falling profits (William Hill for example).
However, plenty of cash to still be made on horse racing especially. If you graduate yourselves to each way arbing you’ll see what I’m talking about. December 2016 was my most profitable month ever.
+0Could you give an idea of how much profit you made in December Chris.
Could I do ew arbing just from the shops or do I need access online.+0Match betting will never die. Why would it? There are 100’s of online bookies competing for customers. Each bookie trying to outdo the other with value and offers.
They can just gub the matched bettors and continue the offers.
Ppl been saying it for 12 months how it is dying yet ppl here reporting dec 2017 was their most profitable and matts profit log hasn’t slowed down either…..
Individuals need to adapt as they lose bookies. Sign up to other bookies, get into ew arbs, acca, multi account … 90% of my profits are coming from sportingbet and betmclean, two bookies I never even heard of last year…. It’s about the only two accounts I have got going apart from bet365 for early prices. Still making 100’s per month easy.
+0I don’t know if its possible to do the ew arbs as efficiently in shop. To get the best value you are trying to back and lay the win part for a very small loss or zero loss. Sometimes the opportunity to lay for this value only last seconds before bookie shortens their price.
I think you can look at them as value bets if you get on early enough. I don’t know if you had anything in the 13:00 at Lingfield yesterday but “Have a go Hero” was 50/1 which gives 10/1 to place in the top 3 in a race of 9 horses where 4 other horses were 80/1+ no hopers. So very good value in that. He was backed in to 20/1 and did place 3rd. But I think the trick is to get on early enough because these mid priced horses in bad e/w races will get backed in heavily every time – so you have to get them early. The only risk in getting them early is a non runner could reduce the number of places paid out and thus remove all value you had.
If you accept that you’re losing money and there is nothing wrong with that. If that’s your entertainment. I would just try to limit my losses to the price of comparable entertainment like the price of a cinema ticket or something. You might lose a little less money by spotting bad e/w races early and having a little punt on the 3rd or 4th horse.
