Quiet period?

  • Just wondering if everyone else is feeling it? In the past month or two it feels like things have really wound down. Considering how much horse racing and football has been on, seems odd.

    Examples of the downturn:
888 cutting most of their offers
Skybet reducing their moneyback on horses to £20
Betfred haven’t done a full meeting in a long time
Bet365 risk free inplay – havent seen one in a while (but I’m gubbed)
Betfred’s January Sales deal was atrocious – nothing to be had at all
Haven’t seen an offer on a bookmaker such as 32red in months
Matt’s blog is basically only refund triggers at the moment, and place offers. These were the least lucrative offers from the average MBer’s perspective.
I signed up with OddsMonkey and their deals were proper scraps! A lot of their deals were just scraps at best and not even worth doing

I am of course gubbed from most places, so I can’t really say if everyone feels this way..

    December profit was £2136.

Your reply to that lonely shows me you’re not ready for each way arbing. Small steps mate.

Wow Chris thats an amazing amount of money. Over twice my total money I get from my part time job and benefits.
Did you get lucky with a big bet or is that normal. Could you explain ew arbing in more detail. Is there a blog like this that lists what bets to make.

A lot of ppl have got in to e/w arbing from doing the extra place offers as the principal is similar and the horses that are good value for e/w arbs are also the same horses that are good value for the extra place offers in general.

Maybe start with extra place offers, I know that paddy power used to have 2 in shop each day in Ireland at least.

Lonely. I thought you were a wind-up when you posted over Christmas, but I guess not.
Forget each way arbing. Look into simple win arbing. If you need help with that then subscribe to oddsmonkey for £15/month or so. Read up about it.
Have you taken up the new customer offers yet?. Especially like bet£10 get £20free bet. If not do that first. You have to do it online. If you’ve not always got access, go down the library.

Rather than spend time and money at the bookies where you pay dearly for your “free” coffee try match.com instead.

Haha @ match.com… a woman is more expensive than going down the bookies every night.

I have no problem with ppl going bookies so long as they know they are paying for their entertainment..

I would go down with 25 in my pocket. 5 on each first 5 races. If they all lose then go home. If any winners then either spend a little more time or go home picking up a nice take away on the way home. Cheap as an afternoon at the movies and more enjoyable than some of the movies these days.

Definitely have to manage it closely but to me as a form of entertainment, it’s good value fun if you manage it right. And if you get on the value offers, bad ew races, extra place races or stick to the favourites etc them most nights you should be coming back with all your money still in your pocket.

@FoG_BLoG – I’ve seen “bad ew” banded around quite a bit recently – can you explain what makes a bad E/W race please?

Just got to keep evolving ey guys, like any business out there really

Definitely need a big bankroll for each way arbs, but £25-£50 a day profit from they adds up when looking at a months profit

    1. Short odds on fav.
    2. A lot of 100/1 outsiders.
    3. 8 or 9 runners, or 16 or 17 runners.

Just some things to look out for.

I actually made a nice £55 out of a potentially bad ew race today. 3.50 Hereford, 8 runners so bookies paying 1/5 odds for first 3 places. Strong fav and second fav with the field 15.0 bar. Watched it all day for non runners but placed bets on two horses at 3pm.

Horse 1 – 15.0 win, layed just before race at 8.0, arbed the place 3.8/1.97
Horse 2 – 17.0 win, layed just before race at 14.0, arbed the place 4.2/2.42

As I had made £20 already on the win parts, I underlayed both place bets and Horse 1 came third netting me £35.

Thats just an example of what can be done without bookie offers. That particular race went well for me as there were no non-runners and the lay odds came crashing down on both the win and place parts which I dont see that often.

What is it though that makes it “bad”? As in bad for the bookies? In that it will mean the place odds on the other runners are higher than the exchange?

Wasn’t meant to be. To me. match.com offers more potential pleasure than scraping a few quid at the bookers.

FOG “a woman is far more expensive than the bookies”.
Possibly, but definately far better value.

Just sounds like you got lucky Chris with the lay price falling,
Could have gone the other way and then you would have been stuffed.
Guess you are typical of most punters, boast about the wins but forget the losses.
