Searching for a bank account to do matched betting with
-
I’ve been looking into which bank account I can use to do matched betting with and I haven’t had much luck.
I don’t want to use my regular bank.
Starling and Monzo are still too unusual and would be a red flag to bookies that I might be matched betting.
A Nationwide basic Flex account was suggested, but I found this in the Ts & Cs: “Use of your account. You can only have one FlexOne account. The account is for personal use and can only be used by the account holder, not your parents or guardians. It must not be used for business purposes or gambling (for example, using your account to make payments to gambling organisations.)”
Does anyone have any other suggestions as to which bank I could use?

New to matched betting?
My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Hi @hdee374,
I’ve written an article on bank accounts for matched betting which you may find useful…
https://matchedbettingblog.com/article/best-bank-account-for-matched-betting/
My recommendation has always been Monzo and I’m seeing Starling being mentioned more and more.
Personally, I don’t think Monzo would be seen as unusual. They’re approaching 6 million customers as people appreciate the convenience of it. I think it’s your best option if you don’t want to go down the high street bank route.
I hope that helps.
+0Yes, thank you, I’ve read that article. I would prefer a high street bank as I don’t like the idea of fiddling with my phone to do anything. I like my full sized keyboard and big monitor too much! 🙂 Plus, I find having to record a video of myself off-putting, too.
But if I don’t find a high street bank to use then it’s nice to know that I have those two as a last resort.
+1Never had an issue with RBS or Nat West
