So, anyone here do any sharbing?
Placed my first one today in Coral’s: Reading @ 2.2/2.1 £100 stake. Didn’t really know how to play it with the stake so I thought £100 was a fairly safe low figure to not arouse suspicion.
Brought slips home from Lads/WillHill/Corals and found around 8 arbs in total. How many of these prices haven’t been cut, I don’t know.
Thoughts?

New to matched betting?
My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Have slips here at home too.
But for Paddy’s if I go into the shop a new price comes out on the docket, not the price on coupon
What sharbs did you find on Ladbrokes mate slips mate?
+0Sorry, wasn’t Lads, it was Jennings. Here’s a few…
Coral:
Colchester 3.75/3.4
Reading 2.2/2.1WillHill:
Swansea 2.38/2.3
Rangers 1.53/1.47
Roma 1.53/1.47
Fleetwood 2.1/2.06Jennings:
Leicester 6.5/6.2
Sunderland 9.5/9.0That’s my hard work done for the day 😉
+0And in Coral they gave my the coupon price without question
+0Do you need to ask for the price on the coupon or what?
+0Nah, just fill in the coupon and ask if the price is still the same.
Roma is now cut to 1.4. Ouch.
Rangers still at 1.53 so I’ve lumped 🙂
Colchester is the best one but don’t fancy a drive back to Corals
+0That Colchester is very nice, guess i’d feel silly if they said price has changed and I said actually I no longer want it….
+0Good Sharbing thread over on MSE forum 😉

Would you have a link for that at all Tony? Interested in getting into it more.
+0Just navigate your way to the money saving expert site Dan, click on the forums link at the top of the page scroll down and find the matchbetting forum, and the sharbing thread is usually on the first page.
Check out some of the posts made by Londunium, he has been sharbing for many years makes around 20K per annumn apparently, but its not easy money, he puts many hours in each week and tis basically a full time job.
Remember there is no sick pay, no holiday pay, no pension scheme and if you ever need a loan to buy a house or flat forget it, no one is going to loan you money if most of your income comes from gambling (banks etc aren’t really going to understand or want to understand match betting).
To supplement your regular income though, I think if you have access to lots of shops then sharbing can be a good little earner.
+0Yeah, the problem with the MSE forum is it’s frequented by some grade A c***s! Not everyone, mind.
But anyway. I hit a few Hills shops this morning to get on Arsenal @ 2.1 (1.95 lay) for around £20 profit from 3x£100 bets. It’s a bit time consuming. Wish I could just stake £1k in one shop with no questions asked lol.
+0Which shops hold the prices best for you Starlord?
And do you place 100 on a single using the coupon is it?
+0Well I’ve literally just started this week at sharbing so I’m not sure. I put bets on at Coral and WillHill and the coupon prices were all held.
+0A few questions regarding this….do you take the slips home check out which has the best margin then go back and do them, how much do you usually place? And doesn’t it look strange saying betting on two or three teams individually and not placing them as an acca? Finally..if the price has changed by a few odds etc doesnt in look suspicious you saying actually no I no longer want to place the bet..?
+0Yes, take the slips home to compare odds then go to the branches to place the bets. I staked £100 per arb, per shop. Could probably get away with more but I was testing the water a bit.
As for the odds, I don’t think it’s suspect to refuse lower odds. Most people use odds comparisons and if you can get a better price elsewhere then that’s fair game.
+0I suppose its worth it if there is a big difference in odds…bit of annoyance having to carry a big wod of cash and then collect your winnings should that bet win etc
