Sky Bet Stake Restriction Inconsistencies

  • This is more of a heads up than anything. If you’ve got stake restrictions on a gubbed Sky account but still want to get on their boosts and extra place offers then try entering stakes on different devices as I’ve noticed yesterday and today that I can get different stakes depending on what device I use. An example now on the 3.00 Leopardstown race on Outlander who has present odds of 12.0. This is what I can get on, on the same gubbed account:

    Desktop – £33.66
    iPad app – £22.73
    iPhone app – £6.25

I have no idea whatsoever why this is happening but it is.

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Is that just testing out the stakes rather than placing a bet, then going to see what you can add on on a different device? (ie place Desktop £33, then extra £22 by going on iPad)

Testing out the stakes yeah. Not actually placed anything although I am tempted to go for Outlander as the extra place as the place lay is sure to be an arb.

Must be stake restrictions linked to the device. I was hammering the not to place market on my iPhone last week and the week before so that would explain the tiny stakes there. Just seems a bit too sophisticated for a bookie to restrict depending on device.

Damn it, more stake restrictions on the way. Cant stop picking winners since Boxing Day.

That’s all interesting chris. I’ve had the same restrictions where I’m capped to 100 on any win in a few mins up to the race and can win 10 20 or 30 on early prices.

I have also been gubbed from Vegas promos without being notified.

I have to say chris you seem to have done well with longevity of accounts. From what I remember you always punt free bets based on form?

Nah beesty I lay 99% of my free bets. I’ve been lucky with a lot of my accounts in that I dont get restricted like most people seem to when they get gubbed but eventually I do get restrictions especially when I’m hitting a lot of wins.

I’m on second accounts with most bookies too and have lost quite a few. Luckily i have third accounts and possibly fourth if I need them. Intend to stop after Cheltenham anyway.

Fair enough that’s all pretty good. I agree that Cheltenham is the massive time. That’s when I need to look into multi accounting as that will be pure madness with extra place offers and price boosts. It also goes into the grand national which can be a good one.

Now may be the time to set up second accounts for Cheltenham. Mug them for a couple months. The bookies are sure to be on high alert before Cheltenham for new accounts. Especially ones that suddenly spring up a day before the festival and go straight into betting max stakes on all offers…

    I might look into it.

You’ll be fine FoG, theres plenty of evidence on this forum that mug betting makes no difference to longevity of accounts.

I was planning to reincarnate sky and Victor accounts in the new year, but take it easy in the build up to Cheltenham. Maybe do the freebet club on non-boost bets this time!
Very random with the stakes mind. Still the same user

I don’t think it’s significant, but I’m restricted on win bets at Sky to less than £2, but today I thought I’d give it a spin and got £25 on EW @ 12/1 without any issues.

Of course they’re a bit more relaxed with EW but I thought that this was surprising.

Interesting jimmy because my stake restrictions are the same for win and each way.

I did ask on chat if I’d been unrestricted, just in case, but they said not.
