Smarkets Bet Reduced

  • A couple of times I’ve layed a bet via Smarkets & then a few hours later I’ve had a “bet reduced” on my account.

It’s happened this morning. I layed September for the 14:30 (Ascot) at 2.28. Just been into my account and it’s been reduced to 2.18.

What is the reasoning behind this?

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

its because of a non-runner(s). basically the bookie (and the exchange) is allowed to reduce its odds on a horse because there is now less competition in the race.
Its nothing to worry about if you have backed and laid at the same time (ie before the horse is withdrawn) because the reduction at the bookie and the exchange will be about the same.
