New to matched betting?
My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

IMO 2Clear/High5 (WH in General) is too valuable to lose by taking arbs early in the day.
A couple of Non-runners in that race now also so no longer qualifies.
+0Its ok i cash out and back against the lay in exchange. all good. The reduction in my bet was to 5.4, and i can back at 5.4
+0Not that I’m trying to rub salt into the wound but wouldn’t you have been better off leaving the bet on?
The rule 4 would have (likely) been in your favour so you would have had a better arb than before..
+0Not sure tbh i never bothered to look. I just put that money to work elsewhere..
There were no 2clear winners on newcastle today anywayTommorrow: Hamilton and Weatherby should be much more opportunity with a day and evening meeting combo
+0Fair enough, it didn’t win anyway.
The increase reduction at the exchange is normally a nice boost when you get a non runner or two though and, hit a winner.
+0The best boosts are those where the odds have drifted and it wins 🙂 back and laid one at about 7 the other week it won the race with best odds of 15 😀

If your boost drifts then you have wasted a boost….
and if you can hit 14-1 winners on a regular basis you wouldn’t need to bother laying.
+0Im not talking about boosts, just backing an laying qualifiers and free bets where the odds drift.
+0If your boost drifts then a) you can’t exactly predict that and b) if you underplayed it at a perfect match/arb then it goes on to win, I wouldn’t call it a waste just an unlucky but lucky occurrence.
You could argue that every underlayed boost that doesn’t win is a waste but then again I know some of you do a normal lay and take £3-4 profit each time which is also a waste in my opinion.
+0you would be surprised how often my long odds picks end up winning, i have actually thought about not laying haha there was a time when it didnt seem to matter what random horse i was putting money on they were just winning 😀
+0has an old user got a new ip address?
2 weeks after making 1500 someone is accustomed to making 1600+ in a single race from BOG…. yet cashes out bets because there are better uses of capital in a couple hours.
always the cynic meanyway boosting for a genuine arb on a 2clear/high5 race has to be the best use how you play it. I’d sat personal preference dictates how u play it, although the EV increases with each method –
The guaranteed profit
Immediate underlay
Finding a shortening horse and delaying the lay using cashout as your safety net.+0Ha I think this is my fault for poor terminology!
When I wrote about boosts in terms of rule 4, I meant boost as in perk or bonus (rather than the Hills boost), I imagine MB12345 may have been doing the same about BOG.
Will try to avoid unnecessary use of the word boost in the future..
+0Its ok theres a couple with sandy vaginas on this thread, every forum has them..
Have to cash out i have thousands stuck in Hills and not enough in the exchange for what i want…. and yes i pretty much every day now place bets on hills of £100-200 on 2clear races
Was an unboosted arb available for a while
17:00 Hamilton, Mininggold. 9.0 / 8.0 – £85 on, its only £10.50 profit either way but the full £100 FB if it wins 2cl
there is a hot favourite in the race though at 1.5 so not sure it has that good a chance. Its only a 5f sprint so anything could happen
+0Cynical is the polite way to describe you betman, I can think of more appropriate inappropriate words.
Nothing wrong with going for longer odds, the view that going for odds on favourites because they are more likely to win by 2+ lengths hasn’t stacked up so far this flat season. As you say, more likely to hit full £100 free bet by going for longer odds, all of mine have come from 4.5 or bigger. Only downside is that restrictions are far more likely to come quicker.
Cant be assed looking in to EV, over analysis in my opinion. Find a perfect match or arb, boost it, underlay it and hope it comes in by 2+ lengths. Been a goldmine so far this season.
