William Hill took my £30 :(

  • After taking about 200 in total over cheltenham i had 30 left, stupid thing was only bad thing i did was let my mate bet on my computer over cheltenham as well and now both are accounts are closed. We did bet on different horses and split winnings. Please no trolling just any advice on how to deal with them and get my last bit of money back.

I would like to inform you that, following a thorough review of your account activity, a business decision has been taken to close your account permanently.

During this investigation we were able to determine that there were attempts to take advantage of numerous bonuses and / or there were several accounts opened using similar details.

This practise is not permitted at William Hill. I would like to draw your attention to our bonus terms and conditions:

“The Bonus will only be issued once per deposit, per person, family, household, address, e-mail address, any environment where computers are shared (schools, workplaces, public libraries, etc) and/or per account. William Hill reserves the right to review transaction records and logs from time to time, for any reason whatsoever. If, upon such a review, it appears that player is participating in strategies that William Hill in its sole discretion deems to be abusive, William Hill reserves the right to revoke the entitlement of such a player to the promotion.”

    • If we deem a customer to have partaken in ‘Promotion Abuse’ the following actions can be taken, in accordance with our terms and conditions:

    • All winnings on any account/s opened will be null and void and all cash-ins will be cancelled where play has been deemed abusive

    • Abusing player accounts may be terminated immediately

Players found to be abusing promotions may be barred from receiving further promotional offers at the Casino

We also reserve the right to retain any balance accrued from such activity, including any deposits that have been made. As such all remaining funds in your account have been forfeited in accordance with our terms and conditions outlined below:

12.7 Where we close Your Account and terminate the Terms of Use pursuant to paragraph 11 (Collusion, Cheating, Fraud and Criminal Activity) or paragraph 20 (Breach of the Terms of Use), the balance of Your Account will be non-refundable and deemed to be forfeited by You to the extent of any claim that we may have against You as at the date of such closure (whether under Your Account, a Duplicate Account or otherwise).

I would like to reiterate that this decision was taken after a careful review of your account activities. You may check our full terms and conditions on the website for further information.

    Kind Regards,

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Id say your lucky you didnt have a big balance. Assuming what you say is true and if your mate already had a account then i honestly dont think youve done anything wrong by letting him use your computer. What if someone came round and put bets on off their phone using your WIFI itd have the same IP address as you and you could end up losing a lot of money through no fault of your own. Its something ive never really thought about tbh but it could happen to any of us. Id definitely be phoning them and explaining the situation. Id be more pissed off that my integrity was being questioned than losing £30. Although as a matched bettor i suppose i dont have much integrity.

Just tell them that you had a mate round and you was watching and betting on the races together. I don’t think you will get anywhere though, the T&C’s are pretty clear.

It’s been a tough week on us all. I accidentally accessed a bestiality site after googling “horse tips”. I’m worried the police might pay me a visit.

Yeah will phone and ask nicely for my money, the thing is I don’t think I won anything with the bonus bets on my account so they are just taking actual winnings which I’m sure can’t be right. Trouble is I can’t see my account history or anything now so they have all the infomation.

I still say there should be some leeway if you and your mate are both longish standing customers. Another example today was I placed a bet whilst on premier inns wifi. Now if someone else also placed a bet on the same connection I could have lost up to 1k. Definitely something to bear in mind in future. Absolute twats the lot of em.

I feel they must be getting heavy handed after how badly Cheltenham went for book markers. And we were matched betting, but with holding money I think is to far. It’s too late for them to take back the free bets

Not so sure that Cheltenham went badly for bookmakers. If you check the share price for William Hill and Ladbrokes over the festival dates, their share prices actually increased. This was down to a spike at 1:30pm on the Wednesday… Funnily enough exactly when Yanworth failed to win – I think they made enormous amounts on that race.

The share price spike at that time had nothing to do with that race. The chancellor’s budget was taking place at that time, and his news that taxes on fixed-odd betting terminals were not going to be increased resulted in the share prices increasing (they actually went down in the days leading up to the budget).

Be honest, sounds like you had more than one account in same name?

I’ve never known a bookie to state during an investigation. They just gub you and any account using same ip often gets the same treatment although not always amazingly.
