William Hill – Verification denied

  • Hi,

I signed up with William Hill recently and placed a £10 qualifying bet whereafter I got an email from them that my account was restricted due to the verification process not being completed. There was a bit of back and forth messaging with their Risk Management team. The essence of it was that I deposited £10 for the qualityfing bet with my Revolut account so they asked me to see a Bank Statement showing the flow of this £10 from a different bank account into my Revolut. I share with them my bank statement that showed the transfer of £10 into my Revolut.
I blanked out quite a few fields of my bank statement account because transactions are obviously confidential and private. They kept saying insisting that they must see the full and unredacted bank statement in order to approve my verification.

This sounds ridiculous to me. No other bookmaker has ever been so strict about this. Has anyone come across similar problems? I am not originally from the UK so not sure if that could have anything to do with it. However I do feel that they have no business in seeing my full bank statement.

    Thanks!

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

It can be frustrating, but gambling operators must ensure that their customers can afford to wager with them. Requesting a bank statement to prove your source of funds isn’t unusual.

If you’re uncomfortable providing them with the documentation they’ve requested, that’s fine, but unfortunately, they’re within their rights to restrict your account unless they get what they need.
