Withdrawing from bookies
-
Hi all, just wondered what everyone’s views are on withdrawing money from bookie accounts? I’ve got some pretty large balances building up but I’m fearful of withdrawing in case it’s more likely to get me noticed! Do people withdraw regularly from bookie accounts?

New to matched betting?
My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Don’t withdraw it all. Leave some in there, make it look like you’ll be going back to bet another day
+2But you withdraw some then?
+0Personally, I leave enough for two bets (ie, if you usually bet £25 leave £50) and withdraw the rest. It all depends on the bookie though, Skybet always has offers so I hardly ever withdraw there, whereas Vernons I think I used once for the SUB and withdrew it all straight away
+2Yeah, I agree I always leave enough in to bet with! I’m just wary that if I draw out a couple of hundred quid they might not like it and shove me on the gubbed list!
+1Don’t worry too much about it. I have net withdrawals on some bookmakers of thousands and my accounts are fine. They care more about how you made the money which you’re withdrawing (i.e. was it bonus abuse?).
+1Were you ever a mug punter @dwain9 ? If so, did you ever withdraw your winnings then? People do withdraw money from bookie account you know – it doesn’t set off a flashy red alarm at Bookie HQ 😛
I would say that not withdrawing, ever, is FAR more suspicious than taking out some of it now and then. In the early days I had no choice but to move my money around all of the time as I only had a small bankroll to begin with.
Agree with both of the other posters in that you should leave some of it in there, but also that it depends on the bookie. It also depends on what you can afford to have lying around in bookie accounts too, in terms of whether that money, sat unemployed could be earning you profits elsewhere?
If you are really that bothered about withdrawing then just try to “lose” some of it into your exchange on close, high-odds selections – think of the minimal loss made on such transactions as a transfer fee! 😉

Haha thanks for the replies! I think I’m mainly paranoid because I withdrew from Ladbrokes over Xmas and got gubbed the following day – probably coincidence but enough to make you think!
+1The theory behind not withdrawing is that someone at the bookies has to look at your account (and the free bets you’ve received) to process the payment, which may or may not be true, but I would think its perfectly normal punter behaviour to withdraw a large sum and run off down the pub with it!
But who knows what bookies think? They are a rule unto themselves…+0I’ve had to make withdrawals from quite a few of my bookies, and some have net withdrawals over £1k, tiger only one I had a problem with was betFred, who gubbed me the day after my first withdrawal, having done 2 months of offers worth about £250.
I worry when I have to do it, but what else can you do?? Try and lose to the exchange, but there is no guarantee and you’ll effectively pay at least the commission to try.
+0Withdrawals are unavoidable for me. I keep them limited, though.
+0Withdrew over £1000 last night from about 4 bookies. Unavoidable when you win big
I also got gubbed by Ladbrokes, and when you withdraw from them they mention checking your account as part of the process!!
