Advice on emptying large bonus balances

  • Hi all,

Just wondered what your tactics were when trying to lose large balances that are locked to bonuses in accounts?
I’m finding it quite hard to pick losers that are good lay matches consistently 🙁

I wondered if it was easier to loose (lay wins) by using multiples? But I’m not sure how to use odds monkey to check for the closest matches.

    Cheers
    Alex

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

    For me there’s 2 strategies.
    1. Bust out by “losing” to the exchange / another bookie
    2. Meet the WR

    1. Busting out is the ideal scenario as you can sometimes do this in 1 bet and then you can move on. However it requires finding an appropriate event, I often Dutch football games for a small loss/profit, and try and have the least likely option with the bonus balance. You are therefore after highish odds, above 3, or as high as your fund will allow for.

    2. Meet the WR, here you really want odds that meet the minimum requirement for the bonus. Again I often dutch these, as there are lots of opportunities for a minimal loss. Once your balance is large it does not make sense to me, to tie up more cash with high liabilities, so by picking low odds you minimise your exposure and can actually meet target.

Odds for all events usually move more just before it starts, so for football if you are available around 2:30pm on Saturday you will find quite a few good matches to pick from.

Can you give us some rough numbers so that I can see what position you are in?

Can you give us some rough numbers so that I can see what position you are in?
Current Balance in bookie (locked to bonuses) = £900
    Wagering Requirement = £2855
    Minimum Odds = 1.6

    Thanks for your help

Personally I would look to dutch this, as these number are quite high. It “only” requires you to roll you entire balance 3 more times, so if you have funds elsewhere this should not be too tricky. 1.6 is quite low so if you aim for the bonus bookie to be the one with the lower odds it allows you to move more money quicker. You may need £1500 or so in your funds to do this, but even the lower odds bets can lose.

On Oddsmonkey, just go to the dutch search. In the filter you need to select all the bookies that you have an account with (the more the better). Then on the dropdown choose the one where the bonus is located. When you find a match, make sure you have the correct amount of funds in each bookie, then check the odds are still available. Now the tricky bit is which order to execute the bets in.

A few things to note the odds can/will change, the odds may not actually be available (if the offer looks to good it usually is, so don’t try and bet on that 98%-102% is what I look for). The order I usually do it, is make the bet with the least alternative options available first, or the one where the bonus is located. It really depends on the availability of alternative bets. The reason being if you make 2 bets but are unable to place the 3rd, then you need to find the next best alternative to cover your exposure. You can always use and exchange, but they take commission which would effect your profit.

Also check the odds rounding is enabled. Perhaps try some smaller bets first, once you are comfortable with the process you try larger bets. I was doing this with TonyBet and they did start to limit my bet sizes from a few hundred down to £20 or £30, so you just need to be sure you have the ability to place the larger bets (on all 3 bookies).

I have rolled a number of larger bonuses this way, but others may have alternative approaches?
