Bank Account
-
Hi guys,
Which UK banks are best when setting up a bank account for matched betting?
I have recently opened up a Revolut online account to keep track of my matched betting finances. However, I’ve already had the account suspended once due to transfers to bookmaker websites and am therefore keen to change to a different bank. Which banks are experienced match bettors using for their accounts?
Thanks in advance.

New to matched betting?
My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

You shouldn’t have any issues with the main UK banks. If you already have a UK bank account, you could always open a separate account with them and use that one for matched betting.
Feel free to take a look at the following article for more info on this…

+0I’ve been using a Tesco Bank account for about 6 months now and I haven’t had any problems at all.
+1I second u6c00 with Tesco Bank
I’d highly persuade you not to go NatWest as their security / limits are annoying
TSB gives 5% interest on balances up to £1,500 with is a nice little bonus
Others offer cash back for opening which can be an easy way to get a float if you’re tight with cash etc
+1Santander basic have been fine for me – the only time I went into a branch though they did ask me to come into the office for a ‘chat’…. was a bit concerned but they only wanted me to upgrade my account – didn’t even mention that all my transactions were bookies or Paypal!!
🙂
+0Thanks all for the advice. I’ve opened a Nationwide account – 5% interest on balance up to £2,500. Hopefully this will be hassle free. Good luck with the matched betting.
+1Theflyingdragon, check for the requirements for 5%, I seem to recall you need to deposit at least £1,000 per month, if it’s still the case then just set a standing order with another account for £1k a month to and from a couple days later
Just double check!
