Bet Alchemist – Anyone have any thoughts

  • Hi Guys

I know Matt has recommend this and i have trust he has put in extensive research and his own hard earned matched betting money to put it though its paces, but has anyone else had any experience on this. I am seriously consider joining and as a novice on horses its is easy to follow ect.

    Cheers

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

I have never used them so have no idea if they are any good or not. I do however know that all tipping services suffer from an inherent problem if they are any good. That is word gets out, more and more people join, then guess what happens to the odds on offer on the horses they have tipped.

If the company limits how many people are allowed to join the service then this might help but its unlikely, because the people who are already members will probably be passing on the tips to friends and family members so that they can benefit too.

If you can join for just a month then give it a go but there are not too many people who make money long term from tipping services, although many often wont admit this even to themselves.

Nothin that every free tipster isn’t readily giving away on Twitter imho

    Not for me

Yep must be some commission or affiliation that Matt is getting because there is nothing great about this tipster. The Cheltenham return for example the last two years is poor. £30 is really steep too. Search Twitter, tons and tons of free tipsters out there but ultimately all are serving their own interests by getting you to sign up with bookies via their affiliate links to gain commission on losing bets (Bet365 gives them 30%). This means that these tipsters get rich off making their followers lose money.

If he has a winning system, why wouldn’t he just bet on Betfair?

He can’t get gubbed for being a winner on there.

So either he shows his betting exchange account with ££££££ of profits in it, or he’s talking shite.

I second that about his Cheltenham strike rate being poor the last few years – my returns as a punter before I discovered MB were better. He has the antepost price he tipped at and the SP – I’m guessing he’s backing at a high price and then publicly tipping to get the lay price way down.

I’m immediately sceptical of any website that has that amount of marketing spiel to scroll down through before finding any actual info, if any, about the service.

Sadly, I fear that Matt is legitimising a pseudo service that is likely no better than any you can access for free.

I’ll share this with you for what it’s worth.

Up until about 18 months ago I used to run a small syndicate of like minded people actively involved in betting (in one format or another). We all used to ‘chip in’ a fiver a month, make suggestions on the tipping services we’d like to try out, take a vote, and sign up. We had close to a couple of hundred pounds a month to play around with so we could afford all the great sounding ones that boasted all kinds of hit rates and ROI’s.

I really can’t remember how many we tested over the two or three years we did it – but it was enough to enable us all to conclude we wouldn’t be paying for any tipping services in a great hurry. Some of them were the ‘big hitters’ you see advertising on/in RP, claims of huge returns, short losing sequences, big priced winners – you read some of this advertising material and it’s easy to get carried away.

In all that time there was one, just one, that came close to being pretty good – not even sure if it’s still going, I’ve tried Googling what I thought was the name but can’t find it and I genuinely can’t recall what it was called. Basically it was based on each way selections up against odds on favourites (I think some of the peeps on here use a similar strategy anyway) and that stayed in profit all the time we subscribed to it – but you’d need some serious stakes to have made it worthwhile.

As a personal comment I wouldn’t entertain pay for a tipping service again as I question why anyone would genuinely want to sell anything they could make money on themselves by purely following their own advice. There is also another reason – when I screw up and have to take a loss then I only have myself to blame – if someone gives me a ‘tip’ that I’ve paid good money for and it screws up, the loss never feels as ‘acceptable’ if that makes sense.

I completely understand the scepticism guys, I expected a fair bit of that.

I agree that the sales page could be a lot more professional to reflect his service.

Aside from the information I’ve provided in the post and review, all I can say is that I wouldn’t risk damaging the reputation of the blog if I didn’t genuinely believe that it’s a service worth following.

FWIW I’ve signed up for his free tips-sheet. Give the guy a chance at least.

I agree sleepless. I’ll have a small punt on the free tips and record what happens on a spreadsheet.

Not sure I’ve got the belly for the full price / strategy yet.

One notable review says that their strategy did not profit at the SP so as the ExPresident says , it could be an each way arb type thing which is basically identifying races , horses to bet on.

This would probably be useful if it were the case.

I’ve no doubt there are people in the world that money like this on horses and hopefully these guys do too.

I’ve signed up for a month and will give it a whirl. Small stakes and lets see how it goes. To be honest and anything above break even is a bonus! We need a new kids trampoline after last weeks wind, so a 10ft one from this month is my goal!!

Matt is of course well entitled to post whatever he likes, but please don’t forget that he earns money via referrals and this one is no different. I do still believe Matt genuinely thinks its worthwhile, else he wouldn’t risk his reputation, but definitely make up your own minds on the service!
