  • Hi All,

The Bet365 offer has landed! Simply you cannot afford to miss this offer!

In preparation, knowing this was likely to drop, I’ve built us an “extra place” calculator that will do all the crazy maths for you to save you having to do it!

It can be found here: https://www.antodev.com/extraplace

Lets hit 5th place again guys!

    Cheers
    Anto

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Yeah so if you are putting £100 each way on (£200 bet) the cash back bet365 give is £100

Gone for the same approach as you smarty, top 10 horses 12.50 ew and laid off the win section, cost me £20 but I haven’t laid off Sir Des Champs yet as the odds are horrible, if they don’t change tomor I’ll just let that one run, hardly worth laying off for a £5 loss

Feel free to correct me if I’m glaringly off the mark here, but, couldn’t we place our back bets tonight (say, on the favourite who is currently 10) and then lay off tomorrow for, potentially, much shorter odds?

I understand the price may move in the wrong direction, however, surely a lot of people are just going to bet on the favourite and the price shorten? (i.e. to 9 or 8 etc).

AntiSocial – The odds on Sir Des Champs are horrible at the moment because Ruby Walsh has had to pull out and replacement jockey not yet announced

I think I’m going to do the same as a fair few on here and go for a few smaller bets and maybe not lay anything. Thinking about doing the bets tonight on BET365 but then wait until tomorrow to lay and hope the odds are a bit closer, mmmmmm decisions!!

Fingers crossed Antisocial, probably only one different to me maybe that I did Morning Approach rather than Sir Des Champ as lay odds were a lot closer.

Works out a cheap way of taking advantage of the offer, as you do not need the full £250 in your Bet365 account (£140 should cover it) and £250 in smarkets will cover the win part.

daz333 – yep correct the fav may well come in many a ordinary punter like the idea of the horse winning back to back nationals, I have not got mine matched as yet so happy to wait it out

Thinking about doing two horses as you don’t need as much liability… But does anyone know how to work out how much liability the second horse would cost after placing the first horse? I’m just not sure how it works!

I think the more I read on this, the more unsure I am about how to play it. I might sleep on it and re-assess the situation tomorrow. I wouldn’t want to put my £250 on the favourite at 10 and then see tomorrow that they have drifted to 15 and are available on B365 for 12!

smothy as long as the other horse liability is lower you don’t need any extra funds..

    Just one more question.

When you lay off the eachway part on betfair do you select ‘5 places’? because in the guide it states top 4 but betfair have ‘5 places’ and ‘6 places’.

    thanks.

you just need enough in your smarkets account to cover theone with the biggest liability. For example is 1 has a liability of £500 and the other has £600. Then you need £600 in your account.

Unlikely to get a big change in odds on the exchange. The closer to the event the more efficient the exchange odds.

Also the volume of money bet means that massive bets will be needed to move the odds.

If anything the majority will drift with just a few shortening. The typical Grand national Punter will not use exchanges just betting shops and the big Mobile company’s. This means that the bookies will cut prices while the exchange odds are more likely to be static.

Split it over 5 bets in the end. Managed to guarantee £71 which a few shots of around £140 on the mystical 5th place.

Some of the questions on the blog are a worry though. People changing the odds on Smarkets to match what the example gave. Hope people don’t lose out tomorrow.
