I was placing my bets on the betfair antepost market. Got three good matches this morning for 3x£25 e/w bets. The other £50e/w i’ll do on the normal market

Ha, yeah I dunno. I’d be happy winning the lays if any are non-runners, though.

It’s odd that it’s suspending already, as the other Saturday antepost markets are still open.

I’ve just tried to calculate the offer and I get a 9.97 loss on the win part and 26 loss on the place part… so is my overall loss 35.97? So with a £125 cash refund I’d make about 90 profit?

You’ll make a QL on both the Win and Place part, the £125 is what take away the loss and turns it into a massive profit

You could also just lay the win and you’ll get the same return on wins, standard places and additional places and a minor loss on everything else.

the_don – that was my first thought on this, and if this is spread over 5 horses, then you have a good shout at the places as well as increased BOG odds on both first and places.

Isn’t this £125 max refund so you can actually put £250 on.

Why are people talking of £125 worth of bets ?

simon – because when you bet £125 each way it doubles up to £250, with £125 on the win and £125 on the place.

Hey guys, I dont have enough to cover the liability to maximise profit from this offer but I was wondering if I could place £100 each way on many clouds and then just lay off the win part of the bet say for a £5 loss. I Have just enough to cover this. But am I right in thinking if Many Clouds wins or comes nowhere then I lose £5 and if it comes 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th I would stand to make a nice profit?

I know this isnt guaranteeing a profit and there is probably better ways to approach this even with the liability I can afford (about £850) but could someone confirm for me that my thinking is correct or if someone has a better idea that would be greatly appreaciated also.

    Kind regards
    Shaun
