O’Faolains Boy is a non runner so market was halted. The horse was approx 33/1 at the time. Presume that doesn’t mean a rule 4 deduction at bookies but reduction in liability at Smarkets.

Do you know what this is Ryan? I’m guessing it means I have to bet a bit more on the win and place to try and get it back to what the liability was before?

Regret dumping all my money in smarkets, the lay odds there an absolute joke. Betfair miles better.

Tempted to not place lay holywell and shutthefront door. Not got much choice at the moment.

Am I right in saying that’s a risk free place punt?

It usually balances itself out…I don’t know much about horses but always found I end up pretty much in the same position as before I wouldn’t go laying more…

Albatross if you aren’t laying the place it’s not risk free as you’ll lose the qualifying loss on the win part if it doesn’t place.

I’m now looking at a loss I think unless I finish 5th then I win 60. Can anyone help me with what to do? Bets I have are :

    £250 E/W Goonyella @ 21
    Lay to win : £114.07 @ 22.4215 = £2443.63 Liability
    Lay to place : £98.93 @ 7.4 = £633.30 Liability
    Refunded £87.86 Reduction Factor Applied

Is there anyway to make money from this now?

Bet 365 don’t apply rule 4 deductions where withdrawn horse is over odd of 14/1. So your winnings at the bookie will be the same. Your liability on the exchange has reduced because Smarkets do apply a reduction factor. My reading of this is that your qualifying loss will have reduced if you already placed all your lay bets.

Griffin why are you looking at a 90 loss? And Traider interesting as my liability has dropped a fair whack

Iv placed small extra amounts on the win/place and my liabilty/return is now about the same as it was before the deduction

Grinning I don’t think you have to do that? looking at my smarkets..my liability’s have reduced but stakes have stayed the same…surely i’m now in a better position. If my horse actually wins my liability is lower = more profit. I don’t see why the need to lay more?

Put the wrong numbers into the calculator. I’ll be honest I have no clue what I stand to win for each finish. I guess I’ll wait till it’s over and look or something

What should you have lay’d and what did you…? not something you want to get wrong playing around with this sort of money…
