New to matched betting?
My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

My stakes are the same but odds are reduced, looks like that can only be a bonus for us?
+0The way I always work out my return is by adding the two numbers under the Stake column in the your bets section in Smarkets. The two amounts should add up to the same amount as your return in the bookies.
My stake on the lay remained the same £40 – the liabilty dropped by £25 to £885 from £910. So the total return on a succuessful lay became £925 not £950.
+0Same Ryan… checking my odds and so far stakes are the same or 2p less on one.
+0Found this in smarkets horse racing rules, doesn’t really clarify what we are discussing here:
In a win market, if a horse withdraws and becomes a non-runner, and it has a reduction factor less than 2.5%, all bets on other runners will stand and remain unaltered. If the reduction factor of the withdrawn horse is equal to or greater than 2.5%, matched bets will be adjusted by this factor and all unmatched orders will be cancelled. The market will then be reopened.
In a place market, if a horse withdraws and becomes a non-runner, the reduction factor will be applied to all winnings and unmatched orders will be cancelled, regardless of the size of the reduction factor. The market will then be reopened.+0It would seem to be a case of don’t panic here, I really hope nobody ends up losing big making alterations to bets.
+0Hurting my head this at this time Saturday morning, pretty sure its all fine….I would be worried if my lay stakes had dropped but seeing as they are the same..odds have been reduced liability reduced its a bonus (only if the horse wins) so yeah anyway!
+0Has anyone who placed bets after 10 had their refunds yet?!
+0Solvi Conti is 17/17 atm if anyones interested.
+0Matchedem weren’t you gubbed? no refund for you FACT
+0Ok so I tried to work out my returns , I think this is right. I should get £143.07 if the horse wins , £108.05 for any place but fifth or £864.07 for 5th. Hopefully this is right because that’s been a great day!
+0Doesnt help that I’ve woken up feeling unwell, not a day to be drifting in and out of consciousness
+0Wow, nice one Griffin. Who are you backing and what are your odds?
+0Hey all. Only been doing this a month or so.. Great site btw!
I have no experience of horse racing so fortunately I copied down all my calculations last night and just worked them out again based on the new odds at Smarkets.
Last night I was guaranteed £48.60 and potential £454ish..
On new odds against Many Clouds profits are:
Winner – £90.76
Places 2-4 – £58.67
5th – £454.81
Other – £48.60Whatever this reduction factor is it has only really reduced outlay if the lay bets lose and seems to work in our favour if we placed last night
+0Mine is £143.47 for the win and £88.20 if it places crazy how you’re getting £108.05 for the place!!
+0gubbing doesnt count on this offer though surely…it says its open to all FACT
ive done the bets so they will pay
