    My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

    Right guys quick question – I decided to go for the strategy of 10 x horses at £12.50 each/way. I already did lays on a couple of them, against wins only (not going to lay against the place bit as don’t mind risking a loss of say £20 to potentially get higher profit if 1 or 2 of them place)

    When doing my win lays on the rest of the remaining horses I bet on last night am I best doing this based on the odds on Bet365 last night or the odds as they are now on there? I know the race qualifies for BOG but obviously some of the odds that are currently higher than what I placed last night could shorten before the race (maybe I’ve just answered my own question)?

    This has probably been asked before on this thread but have read through it so much the last couple of days that my little head hurts!!!

    CashedUp – you will definitely get your refund, Bet365 always pay up on these things. Like others have said they’ll have been absolutely inundated this morning with everyone taking up this promo

    Sammy, don’t rely on BOG. Just treat it as a bonus if it benefits you.

    CashedUp, be patient.

    I’ve put on about £100 worth of each way bets and they’ve only refunded me £10. WTF?

    Cashedup it looks like theyre getting to the refunds one by one. If you placed the bets at different times, they’ll trickle through eventually.

    If I’ve bet £25 (£50 each way) on five horses and then layed the ‘win’ aspect of each horse for a total qualifying loss of just under £16.50…surely I’ve lost £16.50 but gained back my £125 (£108.50 profit)…is that correct?

    I think I’ve misunderstood a small aspect but took my time with the back/lay bets so I know my loss for each horse is between £0.48 and £5.80. I worked it out manually using Matt’s calculator and in one example I would win £400 if Horse A wins and would pay out £403.30 on the exchange (so a -£3.30 loss).

    I didn’t lay the other part of the bet (the each way part) as this will be refunded to me. I know that I just need one horse to finish in the top five to make a profit but the way I see it is that;

    I have bet £125 on the 5 horses to win but layed these off for a loss of £16.50

    The other £125 will be refunded so my outlay is £125. If my horse(s) finish in the top 5 then I’m in profit.

    No daz that’s not correct….if you have only lay’d the win part you are £16.50 down….the £125 you got back is locked away in your each way bets which you are letting run, so if none of your horses place you end up with a loss of £16.50.

    No Daz you haven’t …you’re 16.50 down. You’ve bet 250 and been given 125 back. You’ve then covered 108.50 of the rest with lays.
