Betfair each way edge

Hi, has anyone found a way to get a bit if profit out of the each way Edge on Betfair.

If you edge to get an extra place at Betfair the odds go down making the risk bigger to get the profit on the extra place doing it normally.

But if you edge for less places at Betfair, essentially making an extra place at the exchange the odds get better. I’m sure this can be exploited but I’m not sure how

I play around with it occasionally.

It worked for me at Cheltenham on one horse. It was already an ew arb though…but by changing the terms from three places to four (and laying four to place) it became a much more profitable ew arb.

You just need to play around with places, look at the exchange and see if there’s anything in it.

I’d be surprised if there was a way to exploit it consistently though..

It’ll only work for races with few runners and big outsiders. Dutch the outsiders and hope the favourites have been nobbled.

I’m finding edge useful today for the Grand National.
Reduce the places to 4 and you can guarantee quite a bit on quite a few of the longshots (as long as you have a healthy balance in your exchange)..
