Complaining to bookies

  • Hi,

    After being restriction from placing bets (not just promotions!) on another bookie I just wondered if anyone/everyone had:

    1) Had any FACTUAL success complaining about restrictions on accounts?
    2) Had any FACTUAL success complaining about losing bonus promotions?
    3) Who people found it was FACTUALLY best to complain to?

    I won’t stand by, I’m a certified G and you can’t teach that in bookie school

    Ive found speaking to live chat or phoning help lines is a complete waste of time. Ive not bothered taking it any further though.

    When restricted and not having a message to my email or inbox on the site I have complained on live chat when a token is not credited. In all but one case which was coral I got a token as a gesture of good will and then that was it. Almost like making a last stand!!

    Ladbrokes gubbed me midway through Euro 2016, AFTER I had placed my qualifying bet on Germany to win, which was to return me a £5 free bet every time they won a game. Post-gubbing the free bets stopped coming in, so I emailed them pointing out that I had taken up their offer BEFORE being gubbed so I expected the free bets, which amazingly worked. I was credited the £5 within a day and also got the subsequent freebies when Germany won again. I did mention contacting regulators if they didn’t play ball, but not sure whether that made a difference.

    Pretty much the same thing happened with Stan James, so I did the same and they basically told me to fuck off.

    I’ve given up even try to speak to them. It’s like speaking to a brick wall. They don’t care what you have to say.

    Also, I asked about a promotion on Betfair one day and a few hours later I got gubbed so be careful.

    only time I’ve had to complain was to coral after they gubbed me but didn’t let me know. Was expecting free bets from bet on winner of prem and free bet from community shield. Didn’t get any help from live chat or email to complain so sent email to Andy Hornby, coral chief exec stating that i hadn’t been notified of restriction and if i had known then i wouldn’t have placed bets on offers they were promoting. 3 days later i received email apologising and crediting a free bet i would have got from comm shield and honouring free bets from other promo.

    Think best advice is to be clear about your complaint, what you would like done about it, don’t threaten anything and try to say something nice about the company like you enjoy their offers. Might not always work first time but worth trying.

    If that doesn’t work send in Big Cass, how you doing??!!
