high odds and close match always good?

  • Hi everybody,

    Complete newbie here

After looking at the maths it seams that the following conditions are always favourable when placing qualifying, mug and offer bets:

    • High odds
    • Small difference between back and exchange lay odds

    Questions:

    • If you keep choosing high odds (although you will be losing with the bookie most of the time), won’t they get suspicious of the match betting pattern? Should I mix it up a bit by choosing some lower odds?
    • Don’t they know when someone is constantly choosing odds that are so close to exchange lay odds?

    Thanks

there’s two reasons not to bet with high odds in my opinion, firstly the difference between the odds on book and exchange is usually further apart and would lose more money on the bet, although with a good book that’s not always the case, second you would need a very large balance in the exchange to cover your liabilities and if that bet wins obviously all that cash will transfer to the bookie meaning you have to make absolutely sure you have more cash to play with.

Obviously, you do have to use high odds for stake not returned free bets though.
