How do they come on this number of profit?

  • Can anyone tell me why the profit is 16,10 if Bournemouth don’t win?

This is the example on the newbies page.

    backstake: 25 —- Cashback 20
    Backodd: 7,50

    Layodd: 7,80 2%
    Laystake: 21,53

    Bournemouth win + £162.50 – £146.40 = £16.10 profit
    Bournemouth don’t win – £25.00 + £21.10 + £20.00 (extract 80% of £25.00 free bet) = £16.10 profit

So if you win at the bookies you get 162,5 and you lose 146,40 at Exchange?

I’m just so confused. I have problems with numbers so its already harder for me haha.

    Hopefully someone will help me.

    Kind regards,
    RNick

@rnick It is as you have said.

    Win at bookies:
25x(7.50-1)=£162.5 win at bookies; 21.53x(7.80-1)=£146.40 lose at exchange.
    162.50-146.4=£16.10 profit.

    Lose at bookies:
-25+25×0.8=£5 loss at bookies; 21.53×0.98=£21.10 win at exchange
    -5+21.10=£16.10 profit.

    Hi Dr_Ryan,

Thanks for your response. Only thing that I don’t understand is: where did you get the 0.98 from?

@RNick the 0.98 is the remaining profit after the 2% exchange commission rate has been applied.
