How do you Sharb?

  • I have done a few arb bets before, usually just paying for a premium service. I’ve even risked 20% return arbs and not been gubbed yet. However, I don’t want to risk it and want to try and sharb. I went in to a local betfred today and got the in store coupon for todays football matched, but the woman there whom I know said the odds change and its not like how it used to be where they are fixed odds.

So, how do people sharb? would you just use an premium service to find arbs online for betfred and do it that way?

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

There are one or two threads on this site regarding sharbing, but I don’t think many people here do it, so its not really mentioned very often.

If you take a look over at the matched betting forum over on the MSE web site. You will find a thread there, probably on the first page dedicated to sharbing.

I’ve never done any sharbing myself so can’t help you, but from what I have read (a bit like matched betting) it’s nothing like as profitable as it used to be.

As little as a few months ago sharbing was quite easy, providing you could get a few hundred quid on in multiple shops. In my experience it’s gotten a lot harder.

The euros for example have the coupons printed off days in advance, I’ve done a lot of research only to find the prices have changed. More often than not by checking the slip, the staff don’t tell you the odds have changed most of the time they just put the bet in and look annoyed when you tell them the price isn’t right, and want to kill you when you tell them you don’t want the bet anymore.

Too much work involved for profit at the moment, may come good again once the leagues start next season but we shall see.

Most slips in the shops have a little price change disclaimer now so they’re not bound by the odds on the slips.

The only still decent offer being where the shops will honour the horse racing prices printed in the racing post and other press for 15 mins or so on a morning. Ladbrokes for example honour their prices from 9am to 9.15. If you sit and look at smarkets and compare the prices just before you can back the decent ones and lay straight away but you won’t have time to do more than one shop.

This has been worth £20-100 on a Saturday when I’ve not been at work. Sometimes more if youre willing to underlay everything and hope for winners.
