How to find a suitable lay bet?
-
I have been given a free bet which has been placed on a 0-0 exact score market/correct score market. I have checked all the exchanges and unfortunately cannot find the 0-0 market for this particular football game so I am wondering if I can lay the Under 0.5 goals market on Betfair and if this would cover the 0-0 score and lock in a profit?

New to matched betting?
My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

No. You would lose both bet’s if there was a goal, and lose money on the lay bet.
0-0 market is in the correct score market
+0The particular game doesn’t have a 0-0 market or correct score available on the exchanges that I can see. I will just hope it comes up otherwise the free bet will have to be punted.
+0It’s the Laval v Cholet French National game which is taking place tonight. None of the exchanges are offering a correct score market so stuck with how to lay the bet so was hoping under 0.5 would be the correct market for this. Is there anyway I could be stuck with a losing back bet and a losing lay bet with it not being exact or would I be safe to lay this?
+0If your back bet is on a 0-0 draw and someone scores, then your back bet loses.
If your lay bet is against under 0.5 goals and someone scores, your lay bet would win as the match hasn’t finished with under 0.5 goals.
‘0-0’ and ‘under 0.5 goals’ are the same outcome. You’ll see for matches with both outcomes available that the lay odds for each outcome are the same.
My advice would be to place your bets on higher profile matches that regular punters will be betting on. Placing bets on obscure matches may draw unwanted attention to your accounts.
