How to find qualifying bets plus the mathematics behind the profits

  • Hi Matt, great site by the way. I am a complete newbie of 1 day with 2 questions – please forgive any ignorance:

    1) what is the maths behind the 80% achievable profit from the free bets? Are your ‘costs’ simply the cost of the qualifying bet + the betting exchange commission?

    2) I opened my betfair & coral accounts yesterday but couldn’t find anything to bet on with odds around 1.5. Is there a way to search for odds or do you provide events/matches etc which have suitable odds for both qualifying & free bets? In the end I bet on a match in the French Open tennis.

I want to do another new customer offer today – where can I find recommendations for the events to bet on?

    Cheers

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

    Hi @ilovebricks.

80% is the amount cash you can generally convert a free bet into if you find close enough odds.

I usually recommend betting on football but there hasn’t been a great deal these past couple of weeks. Euro 2020 has just started though so you shouldn’t have any trouble finding suitable selections now. You don’t necessarily have to place your qualifying bets close to 1.50, so long as they’re fairly close, giving an acceptable qualifying loss.

    I hope that helps.
