Is there a ‘minimum percentage increase’ required when I lay a boosted treble?

Hiya matt and fellow matched bettors
I was reading the section on “sequential leg lay” betting & I notice the example used was a footy treble that was boosted from 7.5 to 9.0 which is an increase of 20% in value
My question is.
Is 20% increase the absolute minimum for laying each leg of a boosted treble?
Could I still show a profit laying each leg on betfair if the increase in value is 15% or even 10%

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Hi @roblea007,
I wouldn’t read too much into the percentage boost that the bookmaker is giving as it’s all about the comparative lay odds.
The example in my Sequential Laying guide is actually a 20% increase when compared to the lay odds, rather than comparing it to the bookmaker’s previous price… 9.00 (8/1) at the bookmaker and 7.50 lay odds at the exchange.
You’ll want an expected value of at least 10% when laying sequentially just to cover yourself in the event that the lay odds drift.
I hope that helps.
