Just lucky?

  • The age old thread of why we are gubbed. Not something that we will ever know unless we become traders ourselves!

But thought I would share my recent experiences.

I’ve been matched betting nearly a year now. I have my own methods of trying to avoid gubbings which I won’t bore you with. So far I have kept all main bookies, I’ve lost boylesports, bet victor, vernons and coral – no big loses there. But as I have exhausted most welcome offers and the football season come to a close I started opening accounts for a family member.

The only bookies I ever used before matched betting was Bet365. Every other account I have was purely opened for matched betting and I never mug bet anymore. I’ve never had withdrawal issues, never had to send documents etc.

My family member accounts have been an absolute nightmare though! He is asked for ID on opening of most accounts and he has been gubbed by a couple of major players pretty quickly. He has done exactly the same offers and bets as I have, I just text him to tell him what to do and I lay it all off etc. Yet my accounts remain strong, no restrictions, limited gubbings, constant email offers for free bets for loyalty etc.

I just can’t get my head around it. Could it be address linked, his name, his age? Any pointers would be great to try and keep that gravy train running as long as possible!

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.
