Keep going

  • Wanted to weigh in on that thread in this forum where people were talking about the amount of potential horse offers and how it was a quiet time because it’s the summer and season breaks.

I do most of my matched betting in the shops these days because I anted to protect my accounts for proper betting. Gubbing is tough to take but restricted stakes kills me.

Anyway, today I clocked up 410 in free bets. Please, this isn’t be blowing my horn, I only want to share my joy to motivate others that matched betting isn’t dead. You just need to change a few things and the shops are WELL worth a look!

I also made great cash with the extra place races today and the each way arbs. Just want to try to encourage others to keep going. Restricted accounts isn’t the end. Just adapt to doing different things.

Shop matched betting is also so much more social, get good fresh air, you don’t get side tracked like on a computer too.

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

    Impressive work Dan.

To say matched betting is dead is an overstatement. It’s still easy to hit £200 and over every week if you get on the Channel 4 races, hit the extra place races and place a couple of weekly football accumulators.
I’ve been matched betting as a student pretty religiously for over a year now. It’s obvious to anyone the bookmakers are tightening their belts. Perhaps it’s sites like this one, oddsmonkey and profit accumulator that have brought on its demise. Most of my big accounts didn’t last much longer than Cheltenham. I’ve been able to continue but I’ve been breaking ts and cs which I don’t feel is sustainable.
In-store betting is something I’ve been wondering about for a while. I’ve a few questions if you don’t mind….
Which in-store offers did you hit today? Are there any resources which list these in-store offers?
How do you go unnoticed? Surely you can’t take your laptop into the shop displaying the exchange prices?
Are the odds in store any better or worse than they are online? Particularly if you’re betting hours in advance of the race – I would have thought the qualifying losses would be pretty large.
How do free bets work? Are you given a paper voucher or something?

    Cheers.

    Hi mate,

Shops I hit today were PP and Laddies (I hit multiple shops in the area). Only about 2 hours spent in all shops so a mega return for time invested, and had the craic with punters in there too.

Christ no don’t take a laptop in, just use your phone. Most people use the racing app post on phone in store these days anyway for race info, tips extra anyway so it doesn’t look too bad at all.

Odds instore are often worse on certain markets like footie but the horses are always the same. I’ve compared shop and app before while in there.

Regarding qualifying losses, when I go early I often get profit from arbs on matches, but to be honest I’m playing it on such a large scale that I don’t mind taking a qual loss once it isn’t too big, that way it’s matched in shop and I forget about it. Then I don’t have to check online later to match things

Dan – can you also do more than 1 horse per race in all of the shops?

Sounds profitable – congrats on your success @Dan87

I suspect many, like me, cannot get to shops during the day though – damn day job gets in the way!! 😀

Beetsy you could the odd time but it’s only max 1 free bet per race so… you could do it the odd time, might be obvious if you make a habit of it though.
The weekends are good for it too Tony, plus have the footie coupons too for the acca offers, can bang them out in 10 mins during the evening if passing.
