lay before backing?

Has anybody ever tried laying before backing inplay as a means of getting better odds?
The other night, I lost out when trying to get a decent match inplay as the odds went up too fast on smarkets. So, I thought, if I layed before a game starts then backed inplay on a market such as yes bts as the odds go up after a few minutes, will that work?
Obviously, it has more risk as an early goal would ruin it but just wondering if anyone has any experience of doing this?

New to matched betting?
My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

can work out ok and i have done it on the bet 365 offers but if i was laying before the match it would be something that a goal can’t ruin like 0-0 correct score, that way if a goal is scored before you back, you win at the exchange and can start again.
+0Isn’t that a method bet fair traders use?
+0I guess it is really. I was just looking for a way to minimise the odds fluctuating inplay as I struggled to get a qualifying bet on the wales Portugal match as the odds changed very quickly
