Mobile Betting Offers – Experienced Answer Needed

  • Hi,

Technically I should know the answer to this but I’ve never tried it and picked up a couple of comments on other threads about free bets not being awarded as the QB were not placed via mobile.

I use a Virgin broadband solution at home but also have a ‘3’ mobile broadband dongle as a back up if things go wrong (financially painful experience a year or so back). If I were to switch to the dongle connection from the same laptop to qualify for a mobile bet is that likely to get picked up and invalidate the free bet offer? Anybody doing this?

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

I suspect it will be more about which version of the bookie site you are using; Desktop v Mobile/App

I know that bets I have placed on several bookies Apps qualify as “mobile” regardless of how I am connected to the internet.

Try switching to the mobile version of a particular bookie’s site (maybe before logging into it) and see if you get any joy that way.

    Hi Tony,

Many thanks for that – I wanted to use one of the England/Scotland ‘mobile’ offers, I’ll give it a whirl and see what happens. I could of course get a better pair of glasses so I could see the mobile screen.

    Regards

    Steve

It’s definitely referring to the client, not the connection. Therefore you need to be accessing via the browser on a mobile or their app.

I think the ‘user agent’ of the web browser would tell the website if it is a laptop, tablet or mobile. It is possible to spoof a user agent.
